Account Payable - Overhead Specialist at JAS Forwarding (usa), Inc.

Job Description:

JAS is an international, non-asset-based supply chain services and solutions company. Our services include air and ocean freight forwarding, contract logistics, customs brokerage, distribution, inbound logistics, truckload brokerage and other supply chain management services, including consulting, the coordination of purchase orders and customized management services.


In this role you will work closely with branch locations to process same day payments though several different methods. You will also reconcile these payments.



ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:



  • Process branch payment requests same day via credit card, check, Paycargo, or Cargo Sprint.

  • Post payables for same day payments.

  • Ensure all transactions processed have appropriate backup.

  • Reconcile assigned vendor account statements.

  • Reconcile Paycargo transaction report.

  • Communicate with branches via email and telephone to resolve issues.

  • Respond to internal and external email in a timely manner.

  • Support team members when necessary.

  • Process Workday Expense reports.

  • Assist with month end duties.




SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:



None.



DESIRED EXPERIENCE:



  • Excellent organizational skills.

  • Ability to multi-task.

  • Strong team player but also capable of working independently.

  • Excellent written and verbal skills.

  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office suite. Paycargo is a plus

  • Detail oriented, ability to perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

  • Self-motivated.




QUALIFICATIONS:



  • Strong Excel skills required for statement reconciliations. Knowledge of Vlookup a plus.

  • Strong and accurate data entry skills required. Payable volume can be heavy.

  • Strong communication skills via phone and email required. Email volume is heavy.

  • Ability to work in a paperless environment.




EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:



  • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) required.

  • Minimum 2 years proven A/P experience.

  • Experience with modular accounting package desired. Windows based A/P environment, a plus.

  • Experience in supply chain, logistics, transportation or freight forwarding preferred.




ENVIRONMENT:



100% performed in climate-controlled internal office environment working under normal office conditions. No travel will be required in support of the position's responsibilities.


While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; stand; walk; use hands and finger to feel and handle; reach with arms and hands; talk and hear. While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently is required to stoop, kneel, and crouch; lift weight or exert a force up to a maximum of 25 pounds.
