Logistics and Procurement Project Manager

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Logistics and Procurement Project Manager to join MANDEX in support of NIWC Atlantic MHS LAN Upgrade team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of logistics, procurement, and project management for our organization. This role requires a combination of strong leadership skills, logistical expertise, and a thorough understanding of procurement processes. The Logistics and Procurement Project Manager will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our supply chain and project delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Logistics Management: Oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of logistics operations, including inventory management, transportation, and warehousing.
  • Procurement Planning: Develop procurement strategies and plans to support project requirements, ensuring timely acquisition of goods and services while optimizing costs.
  • Project Management: Lead cross-functional project teams to ensure successful execution of logistics and procurement projects, from initiation to completion.
  • Supplier Management: Identify and evaluate suppliers, negotiate contracts, and establish strong relationships to ensure quality, cost-effective procurement of materials and services.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize disruptions to logistics and procurement activities.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, policies, and procedures governing logistics and procurement activities, including Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and DoD procurement policies.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Prepare regular reports and analysis on key logistics and procurement metrics, such as inventory levels, supplier performance, and project status.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, business administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in logistics management, procurement, and project management, preferably in a government contracting environment.
  • Strong understanding of logistics principles, practices, and processes, with experience in defense life-cycle logistics support.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing procurement projects, including supplier selection, contract negotiation, and performance management.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively lead cross-functional teams and communicate with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Familiarity with relevant regulations and standards governing logistics and procurement activities, including FAR and DoD procurement policies.
  • Certification in project management (e.g., PMP) and/or logistics (e.g., DAU) preferred.

Additional Requirements:

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and project management tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Willingness to travel as required.
