Job Description:
HunaTek Government Solutions is seeking a Cyber Security Analyst to work on site in Washington, DC. The Cyber Security Analyst is responsible for maintaining the security and integrity of our customer's data, leveraging an in-depth understanding of cyber security threats, technologies, and countermeasures to ensure secure computer systems. Applies specialized knowledge and expertise in formulating and implementing plans, programs, policies, and systems appropriate to various threat situations and local conditions. Must be able to use analytical skills to solve problems and establish priorities to achieve high-quality results. The Cybersecurity Engineer must have at least five years of experience in designing, developing and implementing secure network solution to defend against cyberattacks and persistent cyber threats. Essential Job Functions: • Provide deliverables that support the OCIO mission and functions as related to enterprise cybersecurity and to ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and recommended practices. • Provide deliverables that support auditing and log monitoring from Cloud System (Azure), to include reviewing, monitoring, and providing reports to the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO). • Provide deliverables that are advisory in nature to support to the Associate CIO, Information Assurance and CISO on cybersecurity issues. • Work with the Associate CIO and CISO in identifying applicable Federal requirements pertaining to cybersecurity (e.g. FISMA). • Provide recommendations to the OCIO pertaining to industry vision and strategic direction regarding enterprise implementation and management in an effort to improve Cybersecurity. • Work with the CISO in tracking, updating, and remediating system vulnerabilities within the Plan of Action & Milestone (POA&M). • Works with the Associate CIO an CISO on monitoring and tracking of the Incident Response mailbox. • Work with the CISO in Continuous Diagnostics and Mitigation requirements. • Update IT Security Policies/Process/Procedures. Skills and Qualifications Required:
  • BA/BS degree or equivalent work experience
  • Possess excellent attention to detail with strong analytical skills
  • Expertise with cybersecurity and privacy principles and controls used to manage risks related to the use, processing, storage, and transmission of information or data
  • Ability to effectively communicate with both technical & non-technical audiences
  • Ability to obtain a MRPT upon hire
