The Department of Mechanical Engineering and Materials Science (MEMS) at the University of Pittsburgh (Pitt) invites applications for the Cyber Energy Center Administrator. The MEMS Department currently has 32 tenured or tenure-track faculty members who generate over $15 million in annual research expenditures. The Department maintains cutting-edge experimental and computational facilities in its six core research competencies: materials for extreme environments; advanced manufacturing and design; soft matter biomechanics; computational and data-enabled engineering; nuclear and other sustainable energies; and quantitative and in situ materials characterization.
Oversees all aspects of planning, design, and execution of assigned small, routine projects and coordinates with project stakeholders to define project scope, goals, and deliverables. Assists in timeline development, ensures adherence to timeframes, and adjusts project deliverables to avoid issues. Performs budgetary functions and administrative tasks. Assists with external consultant and vendor selection, negotiation, and management.
The Cyber Energy Center works with regional energy industries and stakeholders to enhance educational opportunities for cybersecurity technologists and professionals and to improve cybersecurity for the region's energy system.
This role will assist the center director and project leads on
- administration of internal operations of the center.
- administration of research operations of the center including preparation and implementation of the center’s plans and projects.
Education Requirement: Bachelor's Degree
Experience: No experience required
Little physical effort required. Duties are primarily sedentary. May be required to move objects up to 25 pounds occasionally.
