Required License/Registration/Certification | Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) / Automated External Defibrillator (AED) and either Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialists (CSCS), American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM), or American Council on Exercise (ACE) |
Physical Requirements | Lifting, pushing, demonstrating weight training and cardio exercises, or pulling of objects up to but limited to 50lbs. |
Shift | 40 hours per week. Mainly day shift. (Typically, 8:00am – 5:00pm) Potential evening and/or weekend hours. |
Job Summary | Health and Wellness at the University of Kentucky is currently seeking an Assistant Fitness Manager to assist in the delivery of daily operations of a 7,000 sq. ft. employee dedicated fitness facility. Duties to include: • fitness floor coverage • oversight of customer service front desk staff • perform exercise consultations and training sessions • facilitate electronic membership process • maintain facility maintenance • oversight of daily operations • member customer service |
Skills / Knowledge / Abilities | MS suite, web applications, fitness software Attention to detail, customer focused, strong organizational skills, initiative, sound written and verbal skills. Exercise principles, apply behavior change theory, ability to adapt programming to special populations. |

Preferred Education/Experience | Preferred Masters plus two years of experience in exercise science, biomechanics or health promotion. |
