How will you make an impact?



This is a unique opportunity to join a senior level team of engineers at our San Jose, CA site. You will play a vital role in the design and development of analytical instrumentation within the Life Sciences Mass Spectrometry organization. Our products and instruments are used in the proteomics and metabolomics arena as well as having a real world impact on human health in areas such as water safety and food safety technology.



What will you do?



  • Work with a multi-disciplinary team to design FPGA based precision analog and low frequency RF systems for medical devices and scientific instruments.

  • Apply these efforts to proof-of-concept experiments, product enhancements, and new product development

  • Develop and maintain documentation for FPGA designs and systems.


How will you get here?




Education



  • B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering


Experience



  • Min. 5 years of FPGA design experience.

  • Proficiency with Intel/Altera FPGA design/simulation tool chain.

  • Good understanding of FPGA design and simulation.

  • Hands-on use and knowledge of system verilog, Matlab/Simulink FPGA design or High Level Synthensis.


Knowledge, Skills, Abilities



  • Interest in working with low frequency, high power RF.

  • Ability to work in a medium volume production environment.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Knowledge of industry protocols such as PCIe, SPI, I2C.


Desired Qualifications and Experience:



  • M.S. degree in Electrical Engineering preferred

  • Experience with microcontrollers is a plus.

  • Experience with scientific instrumentation and/or with a medical device company is a plus

  • Development of products under a quality system that meets ISO13485 and FDA regulations is preferred

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range estimated for this position based in California is $104,600.00-$139,400.00.
