Job Description:

Ametek PTMC is seeking a highly motivated and organized (Senior) IT Systems/Network Analyst to join our PTMC business unit and support our locations in Peabody MA and Keene NH. The role will be based in Peabody but will provide back up services with occasional travel to Keene.

PTMC, a business unit within UPT, is made up of 2 primary business lines: Precitech designs and manufactures the world's most advanced ultra-precision machining solutions for freeform diamond turning, milling, and grinding which are used to produce optical lenses, mold inserts, mirrors, and precision mechanical components for defense, aerospace, consumer optics and other high-tech industries and; TMC designs and manufactures the world's most complete line of precision vibration control systems, serving a broad range of applications including semiconductor manufacturing, life science research, optics, metrology, and numerous academic, industrial and military research projects by providing cost-effective, elegant solutions to problems caused by ambient building floor vibration.

The role reports to the DVP Finance and will be the first point of contact for all IT activities in Peabody, as well as provide oversight of the IT environment and all related infrastructure. They will work as a liaison between the IT Manager located at the Keene site and Divisional and Corporate IT to ensure IT policies, standards and processes are properly implemented,

Primary Responsibilities


  • Provide day to day, on site and remote user, support for Active Directory account maintenance, PC installs and upgrades, application support and troubleshooting, Help Desk management and technical assistance.
  • Coordinate between multi-discipline IT teams to support existing infrastructure and to maintain system security. Maintain and monitor server backups and recovery.
  • Capture business issues and coordinate with the different areas of the PTMC and Global IT organization to develop solutions.
  • Work with end users, providers and corporate to provide visible services from the supported systems inclusive of innovative, flexible reporting and data handling and optimizing flow within the ERP system
  • Facilitate the roll-out of new IT processes and standards and the roll-out across PTMC of new business applications or new infrastructure as defined by the divisional or global IT teams.
  • Identify and analyze systems requirements and define project scope, requirements, and deliverables. Coordinates project activities and ensures all project phases are documented appropriately.
  • Provide leadership, project management and ongoing support of existing specified business systems including troubleshooting, vendor liaison, user liaison and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Help to develop PTMC IT budget, IT dashboard and other IT reporting
Role Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
  • 4-7+ years of experience in IT environments.
  • Experience in a manufacturing setting highly preferred.
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics AX required and Infor Visual 10 applications a strong plus
  • Experience with Microsoft Active Directory, O365 applications, Windows10 and Windows 11, and Microsoft server 2012 and above.
  • Demonstrated proficiencies surrounding infrastructure, servers, PS, local and wide area networks and ability to independently resolve issues.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work with diverse groups cross-functionally.
  • Detail oriented, organized and a demonstrated focus on process improvement and ability to work on multiple tasks/projects concurrently.
  • Positive attitude, strong work ethic.
