Job Summary

Job Description

DUTIES: Provide technical leadership in designing and developing new software and web applications in an AWS cloud environment using Lambda, EMR, EC2, S3, RDS, DynamoDB, and Redshift; write scripts using Java, Python, Scala, or Bash; configure, automate, and manage cloud resources using Terraform and Cloud Formation; using and troubleshooting Kafka and Kinesis to support real-time data processing; query data using SQL and data processing frameworks, including Spark and Databricks Platform; monitor infrastructure using Nagios, Solarwinds, and CloudWatch; support applications under development and customize current applications; assist with the software update process for existing applications, and roll-outs of software releases; analyze, test, and assist with the integration of new applications; document all development activity; research, write, and edit documentation and technical requirements, including software designs, evaluation plans, test results, technical manuals, and formal recommendations and reports; monitor and evaluate competitive applications and products; review literature, patents, and current practices relevant to the solution of assigned projects; collaborate with project stakeholders to identify product and technical requirements; conduct analysis to determine integration needs; work with the Quality Assurance team to determine if applications fit specification and technical requirements; and guide and mentor junior-level engineers. Position is eligible for 100% remote work.

REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field, and five (5) years of experience developing software in an AWS cloud environment using Lambda, EMR, EC2, S3, RDS, DynamoDB, and Redshift; configuring, automating, and managing cloud resources using Terraform or Cloud Formation; of which (3) years include writing scripts using Java, Python, Scala, or Bash; using and troubleshooting Kafka and Kinesis to support real-time data processing; and of which (1) year includes monitoring infrastructure using Nagios and CloudWatch.
