At Ameriprise Financial, our global talent acquisition team is comprised of talent scouts who are passionate about strategically advising hiring leaders with talent data, insights, and market intelligence to proactively source, assess, and pursue the best talent around the world.

As Senior Director, Global Staff Groups Talent Acquisition, you will lead our organization's global recruiting efforts across our Corporate Staff Groups - Finance, Human Resources, Legal, Technology, Marketing, Communications, Community Relations, Strategy, Risk and Audit. You will lead, develop and coach a team of recruiters across the US and UK who are focused on Experienced Professional hiring while closely collaborating with our Early Careers and Executive Recruiting teams. In addition, you will manage and lead on select executive recruiting hiring. You will be a key member of our Global Talent Acquisition and Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Leadership team.

Your Responsibilities:


  • Oversee the end-to-end recruitment efforts for global Corporate Staff Groups to drive achievement of strategic hiring needs based on critical business priorities. Serve as a member of the Global Talent Acquisition and Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Leadership team, partnering closely with the recruitment leads for other business segments to ensure alignment and consistency in approach across the organization.

  • You will be responsible for building and nurturing strategic relationships with business leaders, HR business partners and the HR Centers of Excellence (COEs) aligned to our Corporate Staff Groups, focused on consulting on Experienced Professional hiring.

  • Take the lead on senior leadership/executive level hiring, partnering closely with our Executive Recruitment Lead. Strategically advising leaders with a strong yet balanced point-of-view, leveraging deep knowledge of the market and partnering with our Talent Insights and Market Intelligence team.

  • Develop deep knowledge of the business, sharing talent insights and external market knowledge to be an influential strategic advisor to drive informed talent acquisition outcomes through storytelling to drive maximum impact.

  • Lead, coach and develop a team to build a reputation as strategic advisors who leverage actionable, data-driven talent insights and market intelligence focused on pipelining, building and leveraging talent pools. Actively follow and stay abreast of industry and competitive news and embed best practices into work performed across the team.

  • Be a strong brand ambassador and ensure our culture 'comes to life' through a positive candidate journey while sourcing, attracting, engaging, nurturing, and hiring through onboarding - demonstrating inclusivity and a sense of belonging.

  • Drive operational excellence through ensuring adherence to our end-to-end recruitment process and capabilities to ensurea strong partnership between talent acquisition and hiring leaders - maximizing inclusive sourcing, mitigating bias in the recruitment process, and ensuring adherence to local compliance standards (e.g., OFCCP and SMCR). Hold your team accountable for delivering on operational excellence.

  • Identify opportunities to drive efficiencies in processes and technology, seeking out areas to optimize our existing recruitment technologies and tools. Develop creative solutions and lead efforts to implement improvement opportunities.

  • Actively monitor and report on key talent acquisition metrics (e.g., recruiter capacity, time-to-fill, cost-per-hire, agency spend, etc.) to ensure we are not only meeting, but also exceeding expectations.

  • Focus on enhancing pro-active sourcing capabilities, advancing recruitment strategies, integrating best practices, driving DEI efforts, and embedding a data-driven research approach leveraging cutting-edge tools and technology.

Required Qualifications:


  • Experience leading a team of corporate recruiters from a diversified financial services leader - preferably from wealth and/or asset management.

  • Excellent relationship management skills and experience acting as a trusted talent acquisition partner. Experience managing executive level hiring, engaging with senior leaders.

  • Strong research, analytical, and critical thinking skills with the demonstrated ability to translate talent data and insights into a compelling story that informs and drives strategy, action, and decision-making.

  • Experienced at leveraging tools, technologies, and resources to proactively source, engage, nurture, recruit and onboard talent. Experience with Workday Recruiting, SeekOut, LinkedIn, and Beamery (or a comparable CRM) is preferred.

  • Strong interpersonal skills. Ability to consult and influence at all levels in the organization. Proven success driving initiatives to completion while ensuring adoption. Excellent people skills with the ability to build collaborative relationships.

  • Experienced people leader with demonstrated track record of building and developing a highly engaged and effective team.
