We are looking to add new talent to our growing team! We are currently seeking a Weed Control Coordinator/Consultant to work in a technical support role with highly skilled professionals on diverse project teams in a dynamic environment. This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing group and company and get involved in a variety of projects for a diverse range of clients. This is a temporary on-call position located in our Portland, OR office.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
The successful candidate will:

  • Ideal individual would be a seasoned weed control specialist located in Eastern Oregon to provide On-call support for weed control and revegetation compliance monitoring. Individual would support and work with Haley & Aldrich staff to monitor compliance of renewable energy facilities with state-issued site certificates, particularly monitoring revegetation and weed control success.
  • Duties would include implementation of vegetation management program as identified in facility Weed Control and Revegetation Plans, consultation with herbicide applicator contractors, recommend treatment options and timing, document and investigate noxious weed infestations, coordinate a plan of action to control problem areas, and report on progress.
  • As the individual would be in Eastern Oregon, anticipate educating landowners about the presence of noxious weeds, and assist in identification of unknown plants in the work sites. Other duties would include coordinating with landowners on timing of applications on private property, monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of control measures and adjust strategies to achieve program goals, ensure mitigation plans are being thoroughly followed and success is achieved.

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in Crop Science or Soil Science.
  • 20+ years of experience and ability to travel throughout Oregon.
  • Excellent thinking, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong computer literacy skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Must comply with company and client Health & Safety protocols.
