Overview
The Business Development Representative is responsible for prospecting, soliciting, and building relationships with new customers on behalf of Covenant Logistics, while also managing the customers experience after thepartnership is formed. The person in this position will solicit new customers through cold calling, email campaigns, and other means to actively engage prospective customers for new business opportunities within our core service offerings.
Responsibilities
Routinely identify and qualify new business opportunities to position our Enterprise and execute our service offering.
Generate new business through prospecting, networking, cold calls, and referrals by building a portfolio of customers outside of current customer base.
Make face to face sales calls as required.
Utilize Zoominfo to source, identify prospects, develop customer opportunities, and log ongoing communication.
Track the freight to ensure on time pick up and deliveries occur.
Communicate with customers to ensure they are updated on ETAs and information on all loads.
Enter activity on a daily/weekly basis into Salesforce.
Conduct ongoing follow up to develop greater value, communicate new opportunities, and build professional relationships.
Ensure routine review of performance scorecards with customers.
Work with Operations teams to understand network capabilities and needs.
Meet or exceed goals for sales revenue and gross margin on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
Other duties as assigned by management.

Proficiency in Tech Systems – Office, Outlook

Strong customer service skills.
Ability to work independently or as a team as needed.
Knowledge of the transportation/logistics industry.
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience preferred.
Transportation/Logistics/Supply Industry Experience Preferred

Covenant’s compensation philosophy’s intent is to use a competitive total compensation strategy to determine the current market value of a position while also considering individual factors such as performance in current position, time in seat of current position, experience, level of responsibility/accountability, and longevity with the company. The system will be objective and non-discriminatory. Pay Range: $40,000.63-$62,120.37 Pay Grade: 6
