The Corporate Accountant & Financial Analyst will play a crucial cross-functional role within Stella & Chewy's Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) Department, operating within the Accounting and Finance group. Collaborating across all business functions and between FP&A and Accounting, this position is responsible for developing annual business plans, multi-year strategic plans, interim forecasts, supporting accounting and financial reporting processes, and conducting various ad hoc analyses as needed in conjunction with other business partners. Through these responsibilities, this position significantly contributes to the overall success of Stella & Chewy's business initiatives and strategic growth plans. Reporting directly to the Manager of FP&A, the Corporate Accountant & Financial Analyst becomes an integral team member within the Finance function at Stella & Chewy's, gaining experience and influence within FP&A and Accounting, as well as across other business functions. This role actively participates in initiatives that drive well-informed decision-making processes.



Essential Functions: Include but are not limited to:

  • Provide international accounting support and analyses for our international businesses.
  • Prepare and lead monthly financial reviews with key stakeholders regarding financial results and forecasts for managed areas.
  • Generate financial and operational reports and conduct ad hoc financial analyses.
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret data to identify financial opportunities and risks, and communicate actionable insights to key stakeholders proactively.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual bridge analyses related to Sales and in-field Trade Spend to inform Sales leadership of results and trends monthly.
  • Actively participate and lead certain areas related to month-end, quarter-end, and year-end financial closing and reporting.
  • Reconcile month-end accounts for the areas of responsibility.
  • Lead or participate in various projects or business initiatives on an ad hoc and as-needed basis.
  • Actively contribute to the development of annual budgets, periodic forecasts, and multi-year strategic plans.



Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; prior work experience in an accounting role required if not degreed in this area.
  • 2+ years of experience in accounting or finance roles in a manufacturing setting.
  • Strong business acumen with analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience and comfort in presenting to all levels of management.
  • Proficiency in making journal entries within an ERP system and reconciling financial accounts monthly.
  • Excellent analytical skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Experience using ERP systems and proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (specifically Excel and PowerPoint).
