To support our thriving and growing Water market in our US West region, we are looking for a Sr. Structural Engineer with experience in Water/Wastewater Facilities to provide leadership on existing structural engineering projects for municipal and federal clients. This position will be located in Irvine, San Diego, Los Angeles or Sacramento, CA or Phoenix, AZ.

Position responsibilities will be but are not limited to:

  • This position will require skills in the analysis, design, and construction of environmental structures such as Pump Stations, Lift Stations, Treatment Process Basins, storage tanks, and other treatment related facilities.
  • Assist in developing scopes of work and level of effort estimates for structural project work.
  • Conduct field work to evaluate project requirements and to support construction administration
  • Perform structural design calculations and evaluations
  • Perform structural analysis and design retrofits of new and existing facilities
  • Provide value engineering by developing alternative design options to best suit the project needs
  • Prepare portions of project documents including drawings, calculations reports, and specifications
  • Research code and regulatory requirements
  • Assist in construction project work which could include site inspections, review of shop drawings, and responding to contractor's questions
  • Collaborate in the preparation of proposals for new projects and clients
  • Be knowledgeable with current building codes and standards

The ideal candidate will have the following skills:

  • Experience in design and construction of structural steel, reinforced concrete, reinforced masonry, and aluminum is required as well as knowledge of applicable building codes, design standards including ACI 318 and ACI 350, AWWA, AISC, ASCE, and required structural analysis and design software.
  • Highly developed communication skills and ability to work within a team and independently
  • Builds rapport with others; shows ability to influence with or without formal authority
  • Good judgment and decisiveness
  • Regular involvement in professional organizations highly desired

Qualifications:

  • BS (required) in Civil Engineering (with emphasis on structural course work)
  • Minimum 5-8 years of experience in the structural design
  • PE license or ability to obtain license within 12 months

Salary Range: $109,000- $165,000 based on experience and location
