Senior Accountant at Ecore International

Location: 715 Fountain Avenue, Lancaster, PA 17601

The primary responsibility of the Senior Accountant is to manage and oversee the financial data of Ecore and its subsidiary companies. This position conducts the financial analysis necessary for the Company to make sound business decisions and is responsible for implementing the proper accounting procedures.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

25% Perform financial analysis for Ecore and its Subsidiary companies. Responsible for: financial statement reporting, explaining variances, monitoring key financial ratios, account reconciliations and making recommendations to management

15% Serve as the point of contact for annual financial statement audits and ensure that audit recommendations are assessed and implemented. Provide oversight to Accountants with relation to financial reporting, audit compliance, and corporate taxes.

10% Manage Cost Accounting and Inventory Accounting Reporting and Analysis. Ensure standard costs, quantities and values are accurate and reported in a timely manner

10% Oversee treasury activities which include: Administering online banking functions to include maintaining user accounts, assigning access levels, creating, and approving domestic and international banking transactions, (checks, ACH, wires and letters of credit), and verifying legitimacy of checks presented on our account. Oversee cash reconciliations and make decisions regarding adjustments when needed.

10% Manage the sales and use tax initiative which includes: ensure complete compliance as it pertains to sales and use tax legislation for all states in which business is conducted, review and approve sales and use tax returns, administer and manage associated third-party software, verify customer exemption status when necessary and complete a frequent review of the company's nexus impact

10% Manage and oversee staff responsible for Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Payroll

5% Provide guidance on Ecore customer credit, working with sales, AR staff and external parties to optimize business opportunity while minimizing credit risk.

5% Manage and administer the Research and Development projects as they pertain to the associated State and Federal Tax Credits in order to accurately capture costs for tax return purposes

5% Oversee the cash disbursement process including reviewing monthly disbursements for accuracy in coding, defining general ledger journal entries, and reporting for general ledger input

5% Ensure financial control processes are appropriate, effective, and consistent with Company guidelines

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:


  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
  • 5+ years of Accounting experience
  • Experience and knowledge of Accounting intricacies found in manufacturing environment
  • Excellent computer skills to include MS Office software and ERP experience
  • Experience in developing accounting systems and procedures
