This role is based in Cleveland, Ohio, and is a hybrid work arrangement - individuals may be required to work some days in the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland while working the other days from home.

Organizational Expectations:

In this role you will facilitate the process for how information is exchanged by agile development team members, and lead all the agile ceremonies and artifacts.

General Responsibilities:


  • Assists the product team in learning and applying Scrum to achieve business value in each sprint.


  • Continually monitors and evaluates industry trends for department implementation.


  • Continuously helps the agile team learn and grow by assessing work and providing ongoing feedback.


  • Partners with Product Owner to monitor the work that flows in and out of the sprint, helps the team prioritize the work, and reports on the progress within the sprint to the project manager.


  • Owns, tracks, and reports the team's metrics (sprint velocity, sprint burndown, throughput) and risks within a sprint and across releases.


  • Leads the scrum team(s) when new organizational or department agile/sdlc changes are required to achieve successful technology releases for each product line.


  • Facilitates scrum events and coaches the team to implement changes during retrospectives to ensure continuous improvement.


  • Pushes cross-team or department change recommendations up to managers and other leaders through weekly/bi-weekly touchpoints.


  • Guides team to define, update, and uphold working agreements to ensure team is aligned and has a strong sense of purpose during each sprint.


  • Support multi-team program through events such as Program Increment planning sessions.


  • Removes roadblocks using peer relationships, and formal channels.


  • Senior Scrum Master may provide coaching to staff level scrum masters as necessary.


  • Performs other duties as assigned or requested.


Education and Experience:

Scrum Master:


  • Bachelor's degree and a minimum 3 years of related work experience, or


  • Associate's degree and a minimum of 5 years of related work experience, or


  • High School Diploma and a minimum of 7 years of related work experience


  • Agile certification preferred.


Senior Scrum Master:


  • Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 5 years of related work experience, or


  • Associate's degree and a minimum of 7 years of related work experience, or


  • High school diploma and a minimum of 9 years of related work experience


  • Agile certification


Knowledge and Skills:


  • Agile/Scrum/Kanban/Scaled solutions (SAFe, Disciplined Agile, LeSS)


  • Ability to work cohesively with a team


  • Agile tooling experience (Atlassian)


  • Jira Administration


  • Ability to work within/develop an agile work environment utilizing Scrum methodologies


  • Ability to teach Agile concepts and apply practices in a context-sensitive manner

Physical Demands and General Working Conditions:

Traditional office environment: Employees typically sit most of the day, work with a computer and may answer/respond to phone calls. Physical movement consists of walking for meetings, breaks, etc. Ability to lift items weighing approximately 20 pounds on a limited basis is required. Addendum as needed: Employees may be required to travel by car/air.
