Job Description:

This VP of Finance role will support the HPE Storage segment for the company.

Partners with the businesses to ensure that the capital strategies are operationally supported and strategically focused to secure the greatest return on investment for the global company. Gathers financial data and performs financial analyses and reporting (e.g., profit & loss, balance sheet, cash flow, pricing, etc.) to influence decisions within the business and to drive cross-business initiatives (e.g., Mergers & Acquisitions). Drives the forecasting process (weekly, monthly, and long term) by analyzing trends within the businesses and ensuring alignment with business- and corporate-wide objectives. Communicates and drives adherence to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and the organization's financial goals and policies. Has the fiduciary responsibility to represent financial results correctly both internally and externally. Ensures strong business controls.

Responsibilities:


  • Acts as Chief Financial Officer and strategic business partner to the SVP, GM HPE Storage Leader and leadership team

  • Assess and evaluate financial performance of Storage Business with regard to long-term operational goals, budgets and forecasts. Provide insight and recommendations to both short-term and long-term growth plan of organization

  • Consults with business leaders at the EVP and SVP level to drive and influence strategic decision-making within a broad scope (e.g., balancing risk, approving significant deals) that align with the company's plan for growth and expansion (revenue and operating profit)

  • Manages the finance function for one of company's largest, most complex businesses, a major finance sub-function on a company-wide basis, or multiple finance functions for small- to mid-sized businesses

  • Develops and leads planning, design, implementation, communication, and delivery of the company's finance initiatives across the organization

  • Accountable for leading an organization of directors, managers, and individual contributors for a business function by setting overall initiatives, approving financial and human capital allocations for programs and projects, and ensuring timely and effective delivery of financial programs

  • Leads process improvement and policy development initiatives that impact the function globally

  • Oversees the key controls within multiple domains of responsibility to ensure that effective internal controls are in place and ensure compliance with legal and accounting requirements (e.g., GAAP, SBC, AFM)

  • Oversees relationships with large external vendors (e.g., auditors)

  • Identify, develop and execute analysis of business initiatives, product launches, and/or new service offerings

  • Leads and directly manages all finance functions within a business, and demonstrates broad impact through significant direct and dotted-line employee reporting relationships

  • Manages complex, ongoing business challenges and changes stemming from shifting organization structure, linkages, and strategy

  • Ensures that the financial strategies and initiatives within area of accountability are integrated with corporate and business strategies

Education and Experience Required:


  • First-level university degree in business (Accounting or Finance) or economics; advanced degree and/or accounting certification (e.g., CPA, MBA) strongly preferred

  • Typically 15+ years of experience in a finance function or exhibiting an exceptionally strong background in some other relevant and applicable area of business

  • Typically 10+ years of people management experience


Knowledge and Skills:

  • Superior ability to provide finance consultation to senior managers within area of expertise

  • Superior understanding of accounting principles and financial analysis, with commitment to transparency

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, both verbally and written to a wide variety of audiences

  • Demonstrated leadership ability, confidence and executive presence - ability to motivate staff

  • Ability to effectively analyze significant amount of data information and filter it to key points helping management to analyze risks and opportunities

  • Excellent reasoning and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to build executive-level partnerships across functions and businesses.

  • Strong influencing, organization, leadership and negotiating skills

  • Superior people management and development skills, including managing senior teams across geographies

  • Ability to tailor and communicate information to a variety of audiences, ranging from senior business executives to analysts

  • Excellent project management and prioritization skills

Actual offer may vary from this range based upon geographic location, work experience, education/training, and/or skill level. If this is a sales role, then the listed salary range reflects combined base salary and target-level sales compensation pay. If this is a non-sales role, then the listed salary range reflects base salary only. Variable incentives may also be offered. USD Annual Salary: $173,500.00 - $398,500.00
