ECS is seeking a VA T4NG2 Lead Engineer/Architect with Cloud and Security experience to work assigned capture, bid and proposal efforts within our VA T4NG2 portfolio. In this role candidates will be empowered to lead the development of enterprise solutions throughout the opportunity lifecycle, from deal qualification through proposal submission and into knowledge transition following award. The candidate will also support program teams responsible for designing, developing, installing, documenting, managing, and maintaining the associated physical and virtual infrastructure. The candidate will work in a demanding, high-energy environment that requires innovative solutions to network, hardware, software, and operational challenges. You will collaborate with other technologists and process SMEs to develop solution concepts, elicit feedback from both customers and other experts within the company, and iterate towards well-defined technical solutions that separate ECS from competition.

The VA T4NG2 Lead Engineer/Architect translates customer requirements into a compelling solution vision, and then rally a team of supporting engineers and SMEs to achieve the right level of technical depth. To be successful in this role, you must be comfortable decomposing requirements, assessing options/strategies for technologies, processes, etc., prototyping options, sketching technical concepts at the whiteboard in a room of business and technical participants, and be confident in transplanting these concepts in solution strategy presentations to an executive leadership team and customers for their buy-in and support. You will be challenged to expand your understanding of emerging trends and technology in multiple technology domains.

Salary Range: $140,000-$170,000

Required Skills:


  • U.S. Citizenship required per contract.

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science; Information Systems Management; or similar Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) discipline.
  • Experience working with AWS Cloud services and technologies including EC2, S3, RDS, EKS, VPC, and IAM or Azure Cloud services including VM, storage account, RDS, AKS, VNet, and Entra ID.
  • Working knowledge of Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) for server, client, and application hardening.
  • 3+ years experience with federal contracting as a delivery lead (e.g., lead architect, lead engineer, technical program manager) on programs over $50M total contract value.
  • Candidates should have experience defining/implementing systems engineering processes and experience in system/solution design including hands on development/implementation of systems/solutions.
  • 2+ years experience in the identification, qualification, capture and proposal development phases for federal deals with demonstrated success leading these phases.
  • Demonstrated analytical skills/critical thinking. Ability to analyze complex problems, consider multiple perspectives, and assess various possible solutions or outcomes. Experience in performing formalized trade-studies/evaluations is required.



Desired Skills:

  • Cloud or Security certification.
  • Working Knowledge of Docker/Kubernetes.
  • Experience working with the Department of Veterans Affairs.
  • Experience with DevSecOps frameworks.
  • Experience using big data and cloud tools and technologies.
