Position Title:  Sanitation Technician

Department: Sanitation

Shift:   Red Nights 7p-7a

** Offering $2/hr Night Shift Premium for any hours worked 7p-7a! **

*Shift times and days may vary due to sanitation requirements.  Partner must be flexible to vary shift if needed.

Base Rate:   $19.50

Position Purpose: 

Primary duties clean up and sanitation of plant production and non-production equipment and all plant areas as required.  Responsible for sanitation and compliance with FSMA/USDA standards, GMP’s. Maintains sanitation checklists, ensures proper sanitation of all equipment has been done prior to startup. Keeps records of chemicals used for sanitation and inventory at appropriate levels. Overtime will be required for customer visits and inspections.  Work with leaders to ensure food safety and partner safety.  Understand an execute standard operating procedures relative to position.  Perform all PCP and CCP checks required for position.  Work with Leaders and fellow partners to ensure Food Safety and Partner Safety. Follow reaction plan for Food Safety, Food Quality and customer requirement outages and by contacting TA/TL.

Essential Functions:  


  • Verifies and documents chemical concentrations during cleanups and any other time chemicals are used.


  • Maintains organized records for swabbing, cleaning schedules and other documentation.


  • Develop and document cleanup procedures for all areas.


  • Maintains cleanup chemical and supply storage area.


  • Disassembles/Reassembles dairy and food processing equipment without damage to that equipment.


  • Cleans equipment with proper, approved techniques.


  • May work at heights at least 10 feet above ground.


  • Attends and completes chemical safety training.


  • Demonstrates knowledge of MSDS sheets


  • Reports any damaged or faulty equipment, place WRs when needed.


  • Spot cleans during production shifts-all departments.


  • Completely sanitizes non- operating equipment.


  • Verifies sanitation specific PCP’s and CCP’s are met on all shifts and before startup.


  • Assists all departments in maintaining FSMA/USDA approved sanitation standards.


  • Must assist with teardowns/cleanup associated with regulatory and internal inspections.


  • Works various hours as required, including weekends and overtime.


  • Participates in the continuous improvement process.


  • Support production where needed:  This may include tearing down and cleaning equipment, Special Cause Cleaning, and any other sanitation/quality related tasks.

Keep work area clean and free of debris at all times.

WORKING CONDITIONS:


  • High noise levels requiring the use of hearing protection.


  • Temperatures range from approximately 40 – 50 degrees. 


  • During sanitation activities, potential exposure to chemicals and wet conditions is likely.


  • Chemicals may require the use of PPE.
