Position Summary:

The Industrial Maintenance Technician plays a key role in daily operations at the two (2) Altus Finishing facilities. The Industrial Maintenance Technician will maintain equipment, machinery, and facilities by performing multiple tasks while being a hands-on technician. The Industrial Maintenance Technician reports to the Plant Manager and will work out of two (2) locations.

Responsibilities/Essential Functions:

Ø Performs necessary maintenance and repairs for all manufacturing equipment.

Ø Ensures safety is maintained around equipment, facilities, and grounds.

Ø Maintains Tenter Frames, Inspection Machines, Dye Machines, Shear, Tumbler, Sprayer, Foam Coater, and any other production machinery used in day-to-day manufacturing operations.

Ø Maintains boilers, compressor, steam generator, ESP’s according to maintenance and

blow down schedules.

Ø Performs preventive and preventative maintenance per schedule.

Ø Maintains and checks calibration books for scales and yardage counters.

Ø Checks and maintains water meters and systems.

Ø Maintains battery chargers, forklift maintenance schedule, pallet jack overhauls.

Ø Maintains safety stock for inspection items, slitting blades, sewing machine parts, etc.

Ø Ensures quick and safe repair of defective items in plants, either by doing it themselves or using local contractors.

Ø Controls and inventories buggies; repairs if necessary.

Ø Helps in production operations when needed:

o Tenter Frames

o Dyehouse

o De-twister

o Material Handling

o Batching/Sitting

Ø Assists production personnel with general daily tasks as needed.

Ø Performs other duties as assigned by any member of the management team.

Necessary Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Ø Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision.

Ø Hands-on mechanical aptitude.

Ø Experience with electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic systems.

Ø Ability to read electrical schematics and mechanical drawings in both standard and metric systems.

Ø Ability to communicate effectively with production personnel and management.

Ø Ability to work during non-peak, off schedule shifts and overtime as needed.

Ø Ability to learn, analyze, and troubleshoot.

Ø Ability to use multimeter.

Ø Experience with drives and inverters.

Ø Desire to contribute to the company’s continuous improvement process.

Ø Maintain a professional appearance and attitude when interacting with production personnel and management.

Ø High school diploma or equivalent.

Ø Able to read and write in English.

Ø Minimum of three (3) years of maintenance experience in an industrial environment working on equipment, machinery, and facilities.

Ø Have and maintain a valid driver’s license and driving record free of chargeable accidents, speeding or other safety violations.

Ø Must provide own tools.

Ø Physical abilities to stand, walk and kneel on concrete floors, climb ladders, lift up to 75 lbs. safely without assistance, reach above head and have flexibility to twist and turn in tight places.

Ø Must be able to tolerate exposure to lint, chemicals, and heat in summer months.

Ø Must comply with all safety, quality, and production requirements and instructions.

Ø Must comply with all company policies and rules.
