Position Overview

This position will support the BSA, AML and OFAC teams to gain the best use of the BSA/OFAC Compliance technology systems to support a strong BSA/AML/OFAC Compliance Program.  This role serves as a subject matter expert on both the BSA/OFAC Program and capabilities needed from the technology systems to support the program. The day-to-day responsibilities, include reviewing feature requests and determining which ones can be implemented in the next release, prioritizing backlog items for the development team, and creating product roadmaps for testing/delivery. The BSA/OFAC Product Owner will work directly with the VP Compliance Technology Product Manager to help determine the overall vision of products, managing various backlog items and deciding features/benefits to the product(s) that will have to enhance the BSA, AML and OFAC processes.

What You’ll Do


  • Product Delivery and Execution - Make timely and informed decisions on product features, changes, and priorities based on data, feedback, and strategic objectives.  During development windows, support the business and development team by providing guidance, clarifications, and resources needed to deliver high-quality product increments. Communicate delivery progress and results as relevant with stakeholders.


  • Product Requirements Gathering and Definitions – Identify, define, document, and communicate requirements, as “User Stories”, that can be developed and delivered by technology partners (internal and external).  Identify and mitigate risks related to product development. Gather and incorporate feedback from users, stakeholders, and other sources to continuously improve the product.


  • Product Release Planning and Backlog Management – Lead, influence, and communicate product roadmap planning to ensure product releases are aligned with strategic priorities in terms of content and timing. Prioritize and maintain the product backlog user stories, ensuring that features and enhancements address compliance needs effectively.


  • Product Vision and Strategy – Develop and communicate the vision and strategy for compliance technology products, aligning them with regulatory requirements and business objectives. Collaborate with product business users to intimately understand their current and future challenges and needs.  With a strong knowledge of available technology products, analyze those needs and identify viable technology product solutions. 


  • Optimize and Align Product Design – Identify and mitigate risks related to product development, regulatory changes, or other factors that may impact the products success. Drive continuous improvement in product development processes, tools, and practices to increase efficiency and effectiveness.  Ensure that compliance technology products meet regulatory standards and requirements.


Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Systems, or other relevant field preferred.


  • 3+ Years Applied experience in the Field of AML, OFAC, Fraud, Financial Crimes or other transferable field.


  • 3+ Years in Product Owner role or similar, involving experience with: full lifecycle product management, agile methodology, stakeholder management, and data-driven decision making and prioritization or other transferable role which involved using and/or developing BSA/AML/OFAC technology products in typical production states.


  • Working knowledge and understanding with Product Owner tools, such as Development (e.g. JIRA), Database Query (e.g. SQL), and Workflow Design (Visio) is preferred.


  • Working knowledge and understanding of User Experience Design, APIs, and Database Concepts, is preferred.


  • Superior prioritization, organization, communication, decision making and stakeholder management skills is required.
