PRIMARY FUNCTION:

The Warehouse Supervisor will coordinate and supervise the daily parts warehouse activities. Will assist customers at the Parts Sales counter as need to ensure operational efficiency. Will ensure timely branch shuttle (Yellow Ball) deliveries & customer deliveries. Will maintain high productivity in the customer pick up area, hose retail area & core area.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

WAREHOUSING: 50% Time Spent

  • Ensure personnel expenses are within departmental budget guidelines.
  • Update Inventory Control / Warehousing reports daily.
  • Monitor transactions to ensure customer orders are filled within 15 minutes, and shop orders are filled within 30 minutes.
  • Supervise and assist with pulling parts and putting up stock.
  • Prepare and execute annual inventory.
  • Disassemble/assemble hydraulic hoses as needed.
  • Maintain and post cycle and bin sequencing journals.
  • Ensure all incoming parts are processed properly, loaded, and recorded within two working days.
  • Ensure all shop returns are binned within two days of receipt.
  • Position incoming parts in locations to optimize warehouse space based on parts maneuvering, weight size and stocking levels.
  • Enter inventory maintenance transactions/changes within two working days of generation.
  • Process daily bin count listings within four hours of receipt.
  • Document all parts before moving in or out of the warehouse.
  • Schedule workload for the warehouse on both a daily and weekly basis. Assign jobs based on qualifications and capability of parts warehouse personnel.
  • Greet customers and answer telephones in a manner to promote a positive image for Gregory Poole Equipment Company.
  • MANAGEMENT: 30% of Time Spent

  • Continuously create and apply new ideas to improve efficiency, customer service and decrease expenses.
  • Complete accurate daily and weekly reports.
  • Oversee building and grounds security for the warehouse area.
  • Ensure the warehouse and pickup area is clean.
  • Assist with any vender billing problems and reconciliations.
  • Maintain receipt of stock and all daily and weekly IC reports.
  • Work with various departments within the company to set goals for the new year.
  • Work with Parts Manager on budget preparations.
  • Answer customer complaints by listening and following through. Make decisions with the customer and company based on mutual agreement to terms.
  • Ensure personnel in your work group are kept informed of changes in paper flow that may impact your part of the overall operation.
  • Achieve agreed upon standards and deadlines on all assignments as requested by management in your areas of departmental responsibility.
  • Work closely with the Parts Manager to ensure adequate training of day-to-day functions in order to provide leadership in the absence of the Parts Manager.
  • PERSONNEL: 20% of Time Spent

  • Recruit, interview and select candidates for warehouse personnel.
  • Orient and train new associates their job duties, safety awareness and other company standards.
  • Implement Performance Reviews for all direct reports.
  • Provide training and development to increase associates' skills and productivity.
  • Conduct counseling and progressive disciplining actions to improve performance and/or behavior whenever necessary.
  • Responsible for terminating associates as a part of the progressive disciplinary actions if needed.
  • Ensure warehousers are trained to be courteous and deal with customers in an efficient businesslike manner while ensuring all orders are filled accurately and delivered promptly according to parts department procedures.
  • MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

    Education:

    Two-year associates degree with at least one year in parts leadership (Senior Warehouser or Supervisor), or a high school graduate with three years parts experience and one year in parts leadership (Senior Warehouser or Supervisor).

    Physical:

    Be able to work all physical duties of warehouse personnel and counter reps.
    Able to bend, stoop, kneel, climb and lift.
    Able to routinely lift and carry parts as needed.
    Able to operate warehouse equipment (i.e. forklifts, sweepers, hose assembly, etc.)

    Other:

    Must have intermediate PC software skill, preferably with MS Office. Must have good customer service skills.
