Provide mechanical engineering design services for process, product, equipment, and methods & materials development to the Artazn facility and its customers. Primary focus is to provide technical support to the production and maintenance departments in the repair and modification of existing equipment, building and grounds. Secondary focus is to specify, design, and manage the installation of capital projects to improve plant equipment and processes for increased productivity and reduced operating costs.
Job Duties/Responsibilities:
Essential Functions
Provide engineering services to production and maintenance personal to improve production processes and equipment. Work with production and maintenance personal to maintain machine performance to ensure reliable output.
Assist Engineering Manager with capital budget projects and engineering project requests by researching methods, equipment, and costs. Specifying and ordering new equipment and tooling, Coordinate installation of new equipment, tooling, and startup.
Provide technical direction for the reliable operation of facility auxiliary equipment using preventive maintenance, equipment modifications, outage planning and continual communication with operations personnel and supervision.
Provide technical support to production, maintenance, and lab personnel in maintaining production equipment, safety systems, laboratory equipment, and building & grounds.
Support production and maintenance supervision/personnel to ensure compliance with all safety and environmental codes and regulations.
Provide technical assistance and layouts for the addition of manufacturing equipment on existing lines and new line arrangements that improve quality, productivity, and reduces direct operating costs.
Work with all manufacturing department supervisors as it relates to machinery, machine parts, and tooling which enhances quality, safety, and overall operating efficiency.
Provide technical support such as layouts and detail drawings for maintenance department in the repair and modifications of existing manufacturing and support equipment.
Assist plant and maintenance engineers in setting up new equipment spare parts, tooling, and lubrication schedule.
Provide technical support to quality improvement teams.
Knowledge/Experience/Skills:
Technical B.S. or A.S. Degree in Engineering or Design.
10-12 years manufacturing engineering experience
Must be proficient in the application and maintenance of mechanical power transmission equipment, facility auxiliary equipment, process control systems, and CAD software.
Must be competent in the application of OHSA, EPA, and other health & safety regulations.
