Overview
This position is primarily responsible for the evaluation of persons having hearing disorders.
Proficient in the following areas of testing: VEMP, CDP, ENG/VNG, audiometry measures, pure tone, tympanometry, acoustic –reflex testing, electrocochleography (ECoG), Otoacoustic emissions (OAE), and Auditory brainstem response (ABR).
Ability to perform complete audiologic assessment in a manner appropriate to the age and ability of the patient.
Performs and interprets tests to determine threshold levels of hearing, audiotory discrimination, middle ear function, auditory brainstem function.
Maintains and documents productivity standards set by the Department.
Is responsible for maintaining and scheduling routine maintenance on vestibular equipment and supplies used or consumed as part of the diagnostic process.
Participates in the training of graduate students in audiology fellowship positions, who are engaged in practicum experiences at OHSU.
Maintains clean, neat, safe and organized working and treatment area.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Responsibilities
The position requires Oregon licensure in Audiology by the Board of Examiners.
Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-A) from the American Speech – Language and Hearing Association (ASHA) must be maintained.
