The Senior Contract Analyst performs in-depth legal research and analysis of enacted laws and regulations applicable to hospital plan corporations and the insurance industry.


Primary job duties include:



  • Researches, develops, writes and/or revises the more complex contract and member benefit forms to assure compliance with enacted legislation and support current and new products 

  • Files new or revised benefit forms with the State Insurance Department(s)

  • Works closely with the State Insurance Department regulators to secure approval where applicable 

  • Reviews advertising copy and member communications to assure compliance with product related state requirements.

  • This position may provide initial review of the work produced by the contract analyst(s).


QUALIFICATIONS



  • An undergraduate degree in English or Communications or other relevant area or equivalent work experience

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a health insurance environment

  • Demonstrated technical writing skills (health insurance related experience preferred)

  • Legal research experience strongly preferred

  • Experience assessing contracts and benefit booklets preferred

  • Strong communication skills required

  • Experience working cross-collaboratively with multiple business units within an organization preferred


Independence has implemented a “Hybrid” model which consists of Associates working in the office 3 days a week (Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday) and remotely 2 days a week (Monday & Friday). This role is designated as a role that fits into the “Hybrid” model. While associates may work remotely on our designated remote days, the work must be performed in the Tri-State Area of Delaware, New Jersey or Pennsylvania
