The Wealth Management Product Owner is accountable for ensuring the effective delivery of the product vision established in collaboration with business stakeholders from the Wealth Management team and the technology team by leveraging business applications, the Salesforce platform and connected custom/proprietary and third party systems. The Product Owner is responsible for understanding the business across all aspects of our sales and service teams in Wealth Management, helping define process, gathering requirements, and prioritizing the team's backlog to streamline the execution of strategic priorities while maintaining the conceptual and technical integrity of the features or components for the team.

A successful person in this role will keep things organized, plan what will be worked on by the development team in the form of features and user stories and will be able to drive delivery with confidence in a fast-paced, cross functional environment. This role will work closely with subject matter experts, third parties, design teams, and technology partners to ensure functionality is delivered end-to-end that meets business objectives.

As a Product Owner, you will:
  • Day to day management and execution around the backlog of the Wealth Management product category (Financial Planning, Investment Management, Trust & Fiduciary Services, Retirement Plan Services, Insurance, and Trading).
  • Guide build teams in the implementation of functionality through prioritization of the product category backlog and distribution of work to the build team.
  • Obtain business requirements from stakeholders around desired deliverables.
  • Be the voice of the customer and end users.
  • Translate business requirements and product strategy into detailed requirements for prototype construction and final product development by engineering teams.
  • Write user stories and corresponding documentation based on business requirements to inform the build team on functional requirements for a given prototype, product, or project.
  • Write release notes in conjunction with delivered functionality.
  • Lead Quality Assurance (QA) efforts on functionality to be released to ensure user needs are met.
  • Collaborate with training stakeholders to roll out functionality. Help end users and training teams understand why something is being rolled out and how it was built to support a great end user training experience.
  • Keep up to date with all Wealth Management business applications, as well as be up to date on technologies in the industry.
  • Able to exercise independent judgment and take the lead role on enterprise level projects with minimal direction from a manager or senior leader.
  • Monitor the progress of initiatives in collaboration with, or in lieu of a project manager, depending on size, scope, and resource availability.
  • Identifies risks against constraints such as time, scope, or budget/resources. Recommends mitigation strategies to Project Owners and implements solutions as appropriate.
  • Uphold Nicolet's philosophy and policies by maintaining appropriate controls to ensure full compliance with applicable laws and regulations, thereby fulfilling legal responsibilities and enhancing the quality of Nicolet.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business or Information Systems; or equivalent experience.
  • 3-5 years prior work experience in the Financial Services industry; experience with Advisory, Investment, and Trust applications.
  • Product owner experience preferred. Salesforce experience preferred. Agile development methodologies preferred.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills and strong interpersonal skills including the ability to communicate effectively with internal and external senior level leadership.
  • Strong organizational skills, both analytical and problem solving, demonstrating the ability to manage multiple tasks and achieve deadlines under pressure.
