Responsibilities:

The DePaul University School of Music invites applications for the tenure-eligible position of Assistant Professor and Director of DePaul Opera Theater to begin September 1, 2024.

The Director of DePaul Opera Theatre will direct and manage at least two productions per academic year, including the cultivation and supervision of artistic and technical staff; teach courses at the undergraduate and master's level in acting and stage techniques; participate in school, university, and discipline-related service; assist voice faculty in student recruitment; and maintain active research/professional/creative activity outside of DePaul. Additional areas may be determined depending on School of Music needs, candidate strengths and interests, and opportunities for growth for the candidate and the field.

Required Qualifications:
  • Master's degree required; terminal degree preferred.
  • Demonstrated record of or potential for excellence in teaching.
  • Demonstrated record of or potential for productive creative work.
  • Demonstrated record of successful budget oversight highly desirable.
