Job Description:

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Kforce has a client that is seeking a Senior Buyer in Granite City, IL. The Senior Buyer manages the activities pertaining to, but not restricted to assigned procurement duties to support production and customer requirements.

Key Tasks:

• Senior Buyer monitors and maintains procurement activities and duties in compliance with company policies


• Negotiate directly with vendors to get the best possible pricing and payment options


• Manage inventories to optimize working capital goals/objectives, and develop solutions to improve product availability to support customer requirements


• Develop initiatives to reduce costs for products and services


• As a Senior Buyer, you will collaborate with vendors to pitch new products to operations team


• Resolve disputes with suppliers & contractors


• Act as Team Leader in assigned projects as required

REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related field


• Procurement background


• Strong problem solving and analytical skills


• Demonstrative skills in procurement activities, negotiation skills, and a general understanding of procurement


• Experience in interacting with several departments and leading cross-functional teams and projects


• High energy individual, self-starter, results focused, and shares ideas


• Excellent written, oral, communication, leadership, and organizational skills


• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel


• SAP or similar ERP experience required


• Working knowledge of contractual language

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
