Our client is seeking a Associate QA Engineer in Durham, NC / Hybrid.


Role Description


We are seeking a highly skilled manual QA engineer who is knowledgeable in writing and executing test cases to verify the functionality of software. The ideal candidate will need a high level of understanding of software development and know different ways to test components in a range of scenarios. In this role, you will be highly analytical and have exceptional attention to detail, as well as strong communication and collaboration skills. This role reports to the Digital Solutions Manager and is required to be onsite 3 days a week at our Durham, NC headquarters.
• Conduct comprehensive testing of web applications to identify bugs, usability issues, and other defects.
• Develop and execute test cases and test scripts to ensure the functionality, performance, and security of web-based applications.
• Perform API testing using Postman or similar tools to validate API endpoints and ensure proper integration between different software components.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including developers, product managers, and designers to understand requirements and effectively communicate testing results.
• Document and report defects, track issues to resolution, and verify fixes in a timely manner.
• Participate in Agile development processes and contribute to sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.


Skills & Requirements


• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 2-3 years of experience in software quality assurance with a focus on web testing and API testing.
• Proficiency in testing methodologies, test planning, and test case design.
• Hands-on experience with web testing tools such as Cypress, Playwright or similar.
• Strong understanding of API testing concepts and experience using Postman or similar tools.
• Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and tools (e.g., JIRA, Sprint, Kanban).
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
• Effective communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.
