Senior Enterprise Learning Consultant - Hybrid at Cigna

Job Description:

The Learning Senior Advisor is responsible for consulting with business subject matter experts and leaders on learning requests through performance consultation and by conducting a training needs analysis / assessment to identify the performance and/or skill gaps.

Based on the completed analysis, the Learning Advisor is responsible creating learning experiences and incorporating modernized solutions aligned to the 70/20/10 Learning Model and that has measurable performance outcomes. Types of solutions may include e-learnings, self-paced learning solutions, multimedia, virtual and instructor-led training materials, curated learning resources, and job aids.

Key outcomes of these goals include: 1) Organizational talent is skilled in the key capabilities that will drive our business forward and; 2) Enable a learning culture where employees easily access learning to do their jobs and grow their careers. Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to:


  • Manages small, medium to large scale complex design projects/programs that have high visibility and drives them to completion.

  • Consults with business leaders on the gaps and challenges resulting in a learning need

  • Directs or performs the needs analysis, design, development, and implementation of training materials, programs and interventions.

  • Drives thought leadership in instructional design process with the ability to design innovative and creative solutions matched to business and learning needs of the organization.

  • Creates effective learning objectives linked to measurable outcomes in partnership with key stakeholders and team members.

  • Applies advanced adult learning theories to design and develop practical, application-based learning.

  • Builds wireframes and uses rapid prototyping to emulate the end to end learning experience.

  • Develops visual and interactive components to create a consistent experience across a variety of learning topics and authors.

  • Drives stakeholder commitment to proposed design concepts. Is a consultant to key stakeholders, driving the design process forward.

  • Delivers leading-edge solutions. Partners with the Learning Enablement team to explore new technologies that drive the learning agenda forward.

  • Collaborates and shares best practices on company-wide learning strategies with the organization and plays an active role in the Learning Excellence Community (LEC).

Qualifications:


  • Ability to scope learning needs which satisfies time, audience, modality, budget, and other stakeholder requirements.

  • Ability to create, collaborate, and build strategic, trusted partnerships with team, vendors, and key stakeholders.

  • Performance consult with business/HR leaders by asking questions, driving decisions, offering expertise that leads to leaning outcomes

  • Complete and document performance needs within a needs / tasks analysis, ultimately understanding the performance needs

  • Create innovative learning solutions aligned to Enterprise Learning Agenda (70/20/10, end to end experiences, curation, etc.)

  • Manage multiple projects through the learning operating model (project lifecycle)

  • Being a strategic thought partner by understanding the overall business goals and aligning learning capabilities to the needs

  • Influence business outcomes through pro-active offering solutions through the lens of the employee experience and that achieve positive results

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both visual, oral and written form, including the ability to deliver engaging presentations to all audiences, including business leaders.

  • Ability to influence without authority and drive for results. Previous experience with communications and project management a plus.

  • Creative thinker and strong problem-solver with a continuous improvement, growth mindset.

  • Ability to write effective copy, instructional text, audio scripts/video scripts.

Education & Preferred Qualifications


  • Minimum of 8+ years of experience in corporate training departments as an instructional designer is preferred.

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in learning science, human resources, training & development, organizational development, or demonstrated experience.


  • Demonstrated visual design skills and ability to storyboard.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of development tools (Vyond, Adobe Creative Cloud Suite, and Articulate 360).

  • Ability to travel up to an estimated 10% to team meetings, clients, workshops, etc.
