This position, located in the Clabber Girl Plant, Terre Haute, IN, will assist in a variety of Human Resources related functions: payroll processing, employee leave programs, employee wellness and engagement, recruitment, employee training and development, communication with employees, and monthly reporting.
Essential Duties:
1. Accountable to the daily operations of the Human Resources department 2. Responsible for back-up to the HR Specialist in coordination and processing of weekly and bi-weekly payroll
3. Administers and monitors employee leave programs promptly and within guidelines
4. Conducts recruitment efforts for all exempt and non-exempt personnel including internal and external recruitment and employment process for posting jobs, scheduling interviews, and preboarding/onboarding process; facilitates new employee orientations and supports management.
5. Provides support and backup in addressing safety and health incidents
6. Identifies candidates for job requirements
7. Assists in the development of Human Resources planning activities to identify employee competency, knowledge, and talent; assists with keeping job descriptions current
8. Maintains Human Resources records ensuring confidentiality and limited access according to procedure, posts notices, maintains records, and recommends changes necessary to achieve compliance.
9. Coordinates temporary employees’ assignments; maintains accurate records of temporary employee utilization; processes invoices for temporary employee services
10. Coordinates site-specific events and initiatives such as employee recognition, company events, new hire orientation, training programs, volunteer events, and other HR-related projects
11. Effective employee relations with all employees
12. Knowledge of Company, State and Federal Human Resources policies and procedures
13. Works to positively impact employee morale and welfare by assisting management with reward and recognition programs
14. Performs other tasks as assigned by the Human Resources Business Partner
Minimum Experience:
1. 3-5 years of Human Resources experience
2. H.S. Diploma or Equivalent
Experience in a unionized manufacturing environment preferred
Some college work in the area of HR Management or equivalent; Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management preferred
3. Attention to detail
Ability to follow instructions and procedures precisely and consistently

Skills and Abilities:
Broad knowledge of human resources principles and practices including recruitment and selection; benefit plan administration; training and employee development; contract administration
Ability to think strategically
Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with management and union staff
Ability to be entrusted with confidential information
Effective organizational and planning skills
Knowledge of employee development concepts and strategies
