ESSENTIAL POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES


  • Lead and manage the HR operations team, providing strategic direction, support, and guidance to ensure effective execution of HR initiatives and alignment with the company's business objectives to drive organizational effectiveness.

  • Partner with Operations and Talent to develop and implement people programs, policies, and experiences to ensure compliance, alignment, and operational process excellence.

  • Manage Company employment policies and programs - research, recommend, and develop new and/or revised employment policies and procedures.

  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and maintain up-to-date knowledge of HR best practices, monitor labor law updates for changes that affect business operations.

  • Cultivate strong relationships with internal company leadership, operations, and project teams.

  • Partner with business leaders, Talent Partners, Solutions Team members, and Employee Relations Managers to provide strategic counsel on employment related matters.

  • Lead efforts to leverage HR analytic data in making informed decisions related to workforce planning, talent acquisition and employee performance.

  • Provide effective coaching, counseling, and progressive disciplinary strategies for employee relations issues.

  • Oversee employee relations team and participate in internal investigations of claims, complaints, and grievances with the objective of ensuring objectivity, determining the best resolution, and mitigating company risk.

  • Act as an advisor to the Company on legal implications, work with counsel on employment-related matters as needed.

  • Prepare responses for legal claim and government agency complaints in conjunction with legal counsel and/or Talent First leadership.

  • Ensure employment related policies and programs are delivered consistently while maintaining appropriate flexibility to ensure local/regional success.

  • Partner with Talent Acquisition and Talent Partners in development and review of job descriptions to ensure appropriate classification and job family architecture placement.

  • Partner with Talent Acquisition to ensure compliance and consistency in applicant and employment related processes.

  • Direct all Company employment screening and compliance programs, policies, and communications including Substance Abuse Prevention, safety/security, and employment eligibility practices.

  • Lead the development and implementation of data privacy and security initiatives to protect employee information and ensure compliance with relevant laws.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for process improvements and automation to enhance HR operational effectiveness while successfully balancing compliance risk.

  • Oversee Company's employment-based record-keeping and subpoena response process.

  • Oversee Company's Client Mandated screening programs (contract review, protocol development, and communications).

  • Oversee Company's immigration sponsorship program, manage coordination with immigration counsel and managers for all visa and PERM application processes, and other immigration needs.

  • Direct standardized compliance reporting for management use and government requirements.

  • Recommend improved methods of communicating company issues, policies, procedures, events, benefits, etc. to all Company employees.

  • Provide crisis management support when necessary, partnering with other Shared Services response teams.

  • Partner with Learning and Development to create employment and compliance related training and ensure that all required compliance training is completed and current for all employees.

  • Collaborate with Community Relations Directors as well as Corporate Responsibility or appropriate leaders to develop and assist with the execution and management of Company's affirmative action plans, implement changes concerning OFCCP and EEO regulations, and maintain compliance with those regulations.

  • Be a thought leader on Human Resources and associated topics by participating in relevant professional organizations and attending relevant industry events.

  • Contribute to the on-going development of Talent knowledge base to help managers and employees to continually enhance self-service capabilities, where appropriate.

  • Meet professional obligations through efficient work habits such as accountability for work product, deadlines, and coordinating resources in an effective and timely manner.

  • Complete other responsibilities as requested.

MINIMUM SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE


  • B.A. or B.S. degree, or equivalent work experience in Human Resources field.

  • HR Professional Certification, or advanced degree preferred, or equivalent experience.

  • Minimum 10 years business and Human Resource experience.

  • Extensive knowledge of federal and multi-state employment laws.

  • Working knowledge of employee timekeeping and payroll processes and compliance.

  • Track record of cross-functional collaboration, putting ideas into practice, and assessing results.

  • Working knowledge of construction business - industry trends, current practices, and common processes as it pertains to risk, safety, accounting, and operations.

  • Working knowledge of Human Resource policies and procedures best practices.

  • Demonstrated experience in HR analytics and data-driven decision-making.

  • Knowledge of immigration law and overall immigration processes.

  • Knowledge of labor agreements and experience managing labor and union issues.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and familiar with HCM systems.

  • Exceptional leadership, interpersonal, diplomacy, and management skills.

  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust and credibility at all levels of the Company.

  • Effective organizational skills.

  • Effective research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to travel.

Compensation Range:
Annual Salary: $175,000.00 - $225,000.00
