Job Description:

Expert level technical professional role. Under limited supervision, takes ownership of design, implementation, testing, operations and maintenance task related to physical, virtual, and cloud computing environments. Works directly with stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical designs. Provides subject matter expertise and senior level support to technical teams engaged in build, operation, and maintenance of computing solutions.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities


  • Serves as the technical lead and subject matter expert for server infrastructure projects across the enterprise.
  • Designs solutions which leverage physical servers, virtualization, and cloud technologies.
  • Designs, operates, and maintains secure solutions for electronic mail and integrates solutions with secure Active Directory architectures.
  • Designs underlying infrastructure for multi-tier applications and defines network requirements for optimal performance.
  • Designs storage solutions and carries out complex data migration tasks within the operating environment.
  • Creates visual depictions and drawings of complex solutions to serve as build plans for team members and clients.
  • Performs system performance tuning and adjusts configuration parameters for optimal performance and reliability.
  • Provides periodic reports and metrics to management to demonstrate infrastructure effectiveness.
  • Researches and proposes new business enabling technical solutions to senior IT leadership.
  • Conducts scoping, planning, and scheduling tasks for server infrastructure related projects.
  • Provides status reporting on upcoming and in progress server infrastructure projects and initiatives.
  • Performs cost forecasting tasks and provides cost input to the IT annual budget.

Experience

  • 7 to 10 years of system administration experience and demonstrated experience with complex computing environments. MCSE certification can be used in combination with experience as substitute for total years of experience.

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field. Or equivalent combination of education and work experience.

Workplace Flexibility

The position is remote, with strong preference made to candidates in Eastern or Central Time Zones.

Compensation

The approximate compensation range for this position is $80,000 to $120,000. This compensation range is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Actual compensation is dependent upon factors such as education, qualifications, experience, skillset, and physical work location.
