Job Summary:

Supermicro is seeking a seasoned HW Solutions Engineering Director to lead the company's focus on large scale AI/GPU solutions from conception to launch. This role is based in our headquarters in San Jose, CA and provides ongoing management and development of the AI/ML portfolio.The role will use strong technical, business and communication skills defining product vision, planning, and strategy for Supermicro's core product family including research into vertical-based customer solutions and creation of aggressive go-to market plans.In addition to developing new top-of-the-line AI/GPU technical solutions with the latest hardware offerings, the role is expected to collaborate with marketing & sales to engage in technical direction, product development, and pre/post-sales support activities. Communication amongst remote and on-site development teams will be critical to define, develop and enable plan execution to set expectations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Spearhead projects and inspire cross-functional team members to collaborate and coordinate resources to develop solutions.
• Work closely with sales and customers to provide support on any integrations needed to develop the business, i.e. contribute to customer RFPs and partner SOWs.
• Develop product roadmap and lead the development/integration of server solutions, aligning closely with industry partners.
• Develop and deliver a clear strategy and partner closely with marketing, engineering, and business development to provide complete solutions to customers.
• Collaborate in developing positioning material - use cases, technical value, and competitive differentiation.
• Leverage strong technical background to create technical product requirements for AI/ML solutions, including servers, networking, storage and data center infrastructure based on customer requirements, industry trends and business requirements.
• Bring a "roll up the sleeves" DNA and work closely with engineers to help setup & demonstrate key product features and benefits at customer sites, webinars, and special events.
• Engage with customers at various levels including senior executives, engineering, and product marketing to understand their challenges and requirements and convey our capabilities and vision.
• Escalate critical issues to high-level technology partner management for rapid resolutions.
• Provide product training to internal teams, sales teams and customers.
• Provide 3rd level customer support to both internal and external as needed.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent.
• 15+ years of Experience working with Enterprise AI/GPU, Compute, and Networking systems at large scale is preferred.
• Hands-on experience in developing server systems, cloud solutions, and AI/HPC infrastructure is preferred.
• Successful management of products from initial concept through development, launch, and end-of-life
• Solid understanding of server manufacturing, lifecycle management and FW revision control
• Experience in customer facing positions in data center industry.
• Strong presentation skills to both technical and executive audiences.
• Exceptional communication is a must - proven ability to communicate effectively with customers to promote, answer questions, and receive and act on feedback is required.

Please note that this position requires regular in-office attendance. The successful candidate is expected to be present in the office during standard working hours as determined by the company. In-office collaboration and participation in team meetings, training sessions, and other on-site activities are essential aspects of this role. Candidates should consider the commuting distance and be prepared to fulfill their responsibilities in the designated office location.

Salary Range

$220,000 - $250,000

The salary offered will depend on several factors, including your location, level, education, training, specific skills, years of experience, and comparison to other employees already in this role. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation, such as participation in bonus and equity award programs.
