As a Sales Representative, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:


  • Develop sales strategies and adjust to meet changing market and competitive conditions for complex product lines.

  • Demonstrating to customers how to use products and how they will add value to their company.

  • Collaborating with distribution centers and customers to ensure end user needs are met, materials are approved, and communication is consistent and clear between all parties.

  • Presenting relevant information and products to customers in face-to-face presentations as well as phone calls or e-mails

  • Work cross functionally with other business disciplines.

  • Manage a dynamic territory to drive growth with multiple divisions’ products.

  • Implement and execute on business priorities.

  • Deliver forecast attainment and CRM execution.

  • Support and engage channel, end users and key accounts with daily sales calls on medium and large customers, corner office meetings, and production floor interaction.

  • Prepare and conduct presentations/product demos at distributor partner and end user customer locations (business reviews, product trainings, etc.).

  • Daily account management using Salesforce.com.

  • Collaborate with 3M support network to maximize partnership with customers.

Company Vehicle

This position requires driving a company vehicle, which will require pre-employment and ongoing review of motor vehicle history for candidates who are offered and hired for this position.

Your Skills and Expertise

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution and three (3) years of territory sales experience in a market valuing over $1 million annually

OR

  • High School Diploma/GED (completed and verified prior to start) and six (6) years of territory sales experience in a market valuing over $1 million annually

AND

  • Current, valid Driver’s License

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:


  • Three (3) or more years of territory sales experience in one of the following industries (Transportation, Consumer Goods, Electronics, Safety & Industrial)

  • Experience collaborating and working cross functionally

  • Team player with strong interpersonal and team building skills

  • Self-starter open to running projects that need process definition

  • Key account management experience working with multi location customers

  • Experience calling on and managing corner office executive level relationships

  • Experience managing a complex channel landscape within accounts over $1M

  • Presentation skills, CRM (Salesforce.com), written and verbal communication, business planning, sales, and competitive testing

  • Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint in a private, public, government or military environment 

Work Location:

Sales Territory: Remote Within USA

Travel: May include up to 50% domestic
