Direct/lead major projects and provide cross functional program/project mgmt in all phases inc. building construction, automation projects, maintenance, IT systems and operations integration inc. staff levels, training, equipment startup, and system ramp-up, all with objective of attaining stated objectives and IRR.   • Development and management of large complex projects
  • Ability to read/understand construction documents
  • Ability to lead contractors/operations mgmt
  • Ability to budget and organize construction activities and equipment order
  • Basic financial training
  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial/Mechanical/Electrical/Civil/Chemical or Building Construction Engineering
  • 8 years of experience in field (Level 11)
  • 10 years of experience in field (Level 12)
  • Knowledge of Kroger equipment purchasing software, Microsoft Office & Project software
  • Experience in capital project management & construction, maintenance & energy/sustainability
  • Excellent organization, communication & leadership skills
Desired

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certificate
  • Experience as Facility Engineering Regional Project Manager or Project Engineer

  • Develop/implement projects, such developing scope and approach, budget, managing timelines, preparation of schedules, agreements, and coordination of contractors, vendors, consultants and project managers.
  • Initiate projects by recommending cost saving/productivity enhancing alternative solutions.
  • Build, manage and maintain effective teams to accomplish various goals. Coordinate cross functionally across store operations, IS&S, procurement, operations and senior management, as well as capital, expense and non-capital expenditures. Build/maintain relationships with architects, engineers, contractors, landlords, developers and community leaders.
  • Ensure all projects include risk analysis and contingency planning that will maintain service levels in event of unplanned interruptions or delays.
  • Drive projects forward during development phase, schematic design phase, final design, construction/equipment installation, startup and operations transition.
  • Evaluate construction/business activity versus schedule and anticipate problems.
  • Ensure proper documentation occurs and provide regular updates to leadership.
  • Develop/implement transition plans that ensure acceptable store service level, lowest practical cost and least interruptions to operations during all business/product moves within DC projects.
  • Coordinate activities to minimize impact to operations and maximize EBITDA.
  • Perform close out functions, including reanalysis of IRR, ensuring accurate reflection of project performance against expectations.
  • Develop RFPs and manage vendor bidding process.
  • Perform job site quality control inspections, note progress against schedule and take action to ensure completion within defined schedule.
  • Train, lead, and direct work of internal/external resources within a field of expertise. (Level 11)
  • Train, lead, and direct work of internal/external resources in numerous areas of expertise. (Level 12)
  • Supervise and coach direct reports in performance of their duties; complete performance reviews and provide feedback to direct reports.
  • Travel independently (75%)
