Advancement opportunities within the grounds keeping role may include progression from Groundskeeper I to Groundskeeper II, offering pathways for career growth, increased responsibilities and on the job training.

Responsibilities would consist of:
Performing routine grounds maintenance tasks to uphold the beauty and functionality of our campus. Collaborating with our Grounds team on pruning, gardening, mowing, minor repairs, integrated pest control, waste removal, and reporting. Operating and maintaining a variety of landscape equipment, from tractors and mowers to snow removal tools and golf carts. Monitoring irrigation schedules and assist in maintaining irrigation systems. Ensuring safety and cleanliness by clearing hard surfaces in all weather conditions, including snow and ice.

Pay Range for Grounds I: $23-$28/hour
Qualifications:
Safe and proficient equipment operation, pruning, irrigation, gardening, mowing, minor repairs, integrated pest control, waste removal, reporting of conditions, and other work as required.Operate and maintain tools and equipment of the landscape trade, including but not limited to snow removal equipment, tractors, mowers, golf carts.Monitor irrigation schedules and watering requirements and assist in maintenance of irrigation systemsClear hard surfaces including pavement, sidewalks, and roofs in all weather and include clearing debris, snow, and ice.Performs work as designated essential personnel for inclement weather.

Pay Range for Grounds II: $29-$33/hour
Qualifications:
Demonstrated expertise in commercial or institutional landscaping, with a minimum of three years of hands-on experience.
Advanced expertise in lawn, shrub and tree care.
Proficient in operation of all of the following equipment: tractors, cultivators, edgers, power mowers, pruners, and other equipment used in grounds maintenance
Ability to use hand tools required for landscaping
At least three (3) years experience in commercial/institutional landscaping
Must possess a valid Oregon Drivers License and have safe driving record to meet school standards
ODA Certification preferred
