This is a remote position.


Salary Range: $73,986.17 - $82,206.85 + up to 8% Bonus Eligibility

In this rewarding role you will:



  • Government/Medical Billing Expertise


    • Process and analyze billing data for government contracts, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and adherence to government regulations (FAR, DFARS). Manage the implementation of annual NCCI, CMS, and AMA edits, rate and coding updates/changes with a focus on continuous improvement.

    • Research and analyze medical costs and billing rates such as Federal/State Medicare and OWCP rates, applying an analytical lens to identify potential discrepancies and opportunities for optimization.

    • Coordinate contract compliance review and analysis, proactively identifying and mitigating potential risks.


  • Efficient, Compliant, and Accurate Invoicing & Billing


    • Collaborate effectively with internal teams to ensure all government billing requirements are met and accurate information is captured for invoicing.

    • Implement industry best practices to streamline the billing process, ensuring timely and accurate claim submissions.

    • Leverage data analysis to identify and address root causes of billing errors and denials, continuously improving first-pass claim acceptance rates.


  • Data Analysis and Insights


    • Analyze billing data to identify trends, potential risks, and opportunities for improvement in revenue capture and process efficiency.

    • Develop and maintain comprehensive reports to track billing performance, identify areas for improvement, and measure the impact of implemented changes.


  • Process Improvement and Collaboration


    • Champion a culture of continuous improvement by actively identifying and proposing data-driven solutions to optimize billing processes.

    • Manage process improvement projects and act as a liaison between Billing and internal stakeholders in an effort to meet related expectations and requirements.

    • Participate in process improvement initiatives to optimize billing efficiency and accuracy, leveraging data analysis to measure the success of implemented changes.

    • Recommend ways to improve process, quality and minimize costs based on data-driven insights.

    • Prepare and maintain clear and concise documentation and process workflow, ensuring adherence to industry best practices.


  • Communication and Collaboration


    • Effectively communicate activity and project status to leadership, translating complex data analysis into clear and actionable insights.

    • Communicate effectively with government agencies to address billing inquiries and concerns, maintaining a professional and collaborative approach.

    • Participate in the preparation for internal controls review/audits, ensuring all documentation adheres to best practices.


  • Additional Responsibilities


    • Stay up-to-date on changes in government billing regulations and industry best practices, proactively identifying and implementing necessary updates.

    • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.



You must have:



  • A bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.

  • A minimum 5 years of experience in government healthcare billing and/or government contracts.

  • Proven understanding of government billing regulations (FAR, DFARS).

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a demonstrably data-driven approach.

  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).

  • Experience with government billing software (Acumatica or similar).

  • Experience with government invoice submission portals (WAWF, IPP, or similar).

  • Experience with data analysis tools (Tableau, PowerBI, PowerQuery, SQL or similar).
