Summary

The Order Picker plays a crucial role in our manufacturing plant by ensuring accurate and efficient packing of customer orders for parcel shipments. Working in collaboration with the fulfillment team, the Order Packer will be responsible for carefully packaging items into corrugate boxes, applying appropriate cushioning and protective materials as needed, and labeling packages for shipping. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, a focus on quality, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities


  • Review packing lists and order specifications to determine the appropriate packaging materials and methods for each order.
  • Pack items into corrugate boxes according to established packing standards and procedures.
  • Apply cushioning materials, bubble wrap, or other protective measures to prevent damage during transit.
  • Seal boxes securely using tape or other sealing methods to ensure packages are secure and tamper-evident.
  • Label packages accurately with shipping information, including recipient addresses, tracking numbers, and any special handling instructions.
  • Assist with loading packed boxes onto pallets or carts for transportation to shipping areas.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the packing area, including disposing of packaging waste and recycling materials properly.
  • Report any discrepancies, damaged items, or quality issues to supervisors for resolution.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and regulations at all times to ensure a safe working environment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in packing or shipping operations preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret packing instructions and shipping labels.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in packing orders.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality standards.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Physical stamina and the ability to lift and carry moderately heavy objects.
  • Basic computer skills for data entry and label printing.
  • Commitment to safety and following established protocols and procedures.
