Duties and Responsibilities | Responsible for reconciling expenditures between the State accounting system and the internal accounting system on a monthly basis. Assist with preparation of annual financial statements, financial schedules and reports for yearend and monthly closing for all financial systems. Maintain the debt schedules, leases, and file Amusement Tax forms. Compile and record monthly chargebacks and tuition remission. Prepare and enter financial transactions into accounting system. Reconcile other account activity. Analyze transactions for appropriateness and correctness. Assist with maintaining files for financial reports and entries and perform other related duties as assigned. |
Education | Bachelors degree in Accounting or related subject required. |
---|---|
Experience | Two (2) years of experience as an accountant or related position required.. Experience should include reconciliations, use of computer spreadsheets and word-processing software. Experience in Oracle, Workday accounting software or the equivalent is a plus. |
Knowledge Skills and Abilities | Requires a workable knowledge and understanding of basic accounting principles and accounting systems and methods of reconciling. Requires a good aptitude for math, an ability to analyze and classify accounting transactions, and a general knowledge of accounting and the principles and practices of auditing. Also requires an ability to multi-task and prioritizes duties as necessary. Skills to analyze, research, and solve problems independently. Possesses proficient skills in computer spreadsheets including Excel and Pivot Tables, and Microsoft Word are required. Must have good organizational skills and ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Must work well with others. |
