Position Details:



Summary of Duties:


This position has oversight and responsibility for the Western Regional Agricultural Stress Assistance Program (WRASAP) serving the 13 States and 4 Territories of the Western Region in the United States. The WRASAP Coordinator is responsible for managing partner relationships and implementation of program activities, ensuring inputs and activities are tied to goals and deliverables. This includes working with subaward agencies on timely delivery of program activities, invoicing and reporting measures. Additionally, WRASAP will support the Small Grants program and other outreach efforts as well as support in the timely reporting of program activity. This position is the liaison between WSU Skagit County Extension Faculty and the United States Department of Agriculture National Institute of Food and Agriculture.





Required Qualifications:




  • A Bachelor's degree in a relevant extension program discipline and two (2) years of related program experience. Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.




  • Bachelor's degree may be in related plant sciences, human resource management, volunteer management or related field.




  • Demonstrated success in developing and managing grant programs.




  • While using a private, rental or motor pool vehicle for official business, have current automobile liability insurance (meeting the requirements described in RCW 46.30.020 and RCW 46.29.090) and possess a valid driver's license.




  • Must be able and willing to work a flexible schedule that include evenings, and weekends.




  • Must be able to travel including overnight.




  • All new employees must be screened and pass a background check.






Preferred Qualifications:




  • Must have completed or be willing to complete the QPR and Mental Health First Aid.




  • Fluency reading, writing, and speaking Spanish.




  • Experience working with non-profit organizations.




  • Ability to work as a team member and foster teamwork.




  • Experience developing and demonstrating effective teaching methods for volunteers.




  • Willingness to work with people of all economic levels, ages, races and ethnic backgrounds and with rural, suburban and urban audiences.




  • Ability to set and meet deadlines.




  • Ability to work effectively with volunteers and know when and how to delegate work and responsibilities.




  • Ability to communicate proficiently using oral, written and listening skills.




  • Skills to follow policies and procedures.




  • Ability to work independently, be self-initiating and able to prioritize work.




  • Skills using the MS Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Word); Adobe Acrobat and WordPress; and the ability to adapt to new technologies and techniques.

Monthly Salary: $3,900.88 - $5,613.47



In accordance with RCW 49.58.110, the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate's current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position. This is a temporary position expected to end 1 year from date of hire. Renewal is dependent on the need for extension and/or if additional funding is secured to extend employment.
