Job Description:

Primary Location:2800 E. Spring Creek Parkway, Plano, Texas, 75074We are searching for candidates that meet the required qualifications and experience and are able to perform the essential duties and responsibilities.
Job Summary:Supervise employees engaged in serving food or beverages to customers; responsible for transporting food, beverage and equipment to and from assigned locations for catering and food services. Maintain and comply with all applicable sanitation, health and personal hygiene standards and following established procedures. Perform a wide range of duties involved with preparing and/or serving foods and beverages in one or more of a variety of venues. May serve food to customers and/or perform cashiering duties, as appropriate.


Work Schedule varies Monday through Sunday, 6 am to 8 pm. Must be able to adapt to work schedule and seasonal demands.
Required Qualifications:


Essential Duties and Responsibilities



  • Assign and coordinate work of employees to promote efficiency of the operation.

  • Transport, deliver, (load and unload catering van or box truck) set up and drop off catering events as assigned.

  • Ensure catering events are picked up and cleaned in a timely manner.

  • May supervisor the coffee bar or café employees.

  • Inspect kitchen, café and coffee areas to ensure that sanitary standards are met.

  • Follow prescribed procedures in setting up coffee bar, hot and cold food lines; choose proper utensils and monitor appropriate temperature for menu items.

  • Keep records, such as amount of food served and inventory

  • As appropriate to the position, serve food items to customers from counters and/or steam tables, in accordance with specific instructions, ensuring that appropriate portions are served.

  • Prepare work schedules and evaluate work performance of employees.

  • As needed, replenish foods, silverware, glassware, dishes, and trays at serving stations; may order and replenish condiments.

  • Attend to day-to-day problems and needs concerning equipment and food supplies; detect and ensure disposition of spoiled or unattractive food, defective supplies/equipment, and/or other unusual conditions.

  • May clean and maintain work areas, including floors, facilities, utensils, and equipment; collect and place garbage and trash in designated containers; as appropriate to the area of operation.

Physical Demands, Working Conditions and Physical Effort

Medium Work - Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly having to move objects. Positions in this class typically include talking, hearing, seeing, grasping, standing, walking and repetitive motions, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and reaching, climbing and balancing, plus pushing, pulling and lifting. Incumbents may be subjected to moving mechanical parts, odors, dusts, poor ventilation, chemicals, oils, extreme temperatures, inadequate lighting and intense noises. Occasional exposure to unpleasant environmental conditions and/or hazards. Occasional outside work. Frequent physical effort required.


Requirements

High school diploma or GED.


One to two years prior experience working and/or supervising in a food service operation.




Licenses and Certifications

Required to complete and pass an online Food Handler's certification within 30 days of hire.



Valid Texas Driver's License* and insurability with the college's insurance carrier.



*Individuals hired for this position may be required to drive a company vehicle. A Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) will be run in conjunction with the background check during the contingent offer stage and annually/bi-annually for the duration of employment at Collin College. Candidates who fail the original background/MVR report or subsequent MVR reports may not be hired and/or terminated based on the results of the report.*
