Position Summary: This position is responsible for the strategic negotiation and procurement of materials and equipment for the Separation Division. This person will work with multiple suppliers to get the best prices and lead times as needed by the business.



Principal Duties
:

  • Plan and execute strategic procurements of engineered equipment for Andritz Separation facilities in North America.
  • Analyze purchase requisitions and review for accuracy, completeness, and clarity. Obtain any missing information if necessary.
  • Plan and prepare RFQ's and send to multiple suppliers to get the best prices and lead times available.
  • Coordinate and negotiate the technical aspects of scope, price, and lead time according to project plans.
  • Research, identify, and select suppliers according to scope, price, and delivery.
  • Create purchase orders checking for accuracy and working with stakeholders for approval.
  • Review confirmations in accordance with PO's and resolve discrepancies as needed.
  • Follow-ups and expediting of purchase orders as necessary to meet project schedules.
  • Contribute to the achievement of Procurement KPIs for negotiated savings, COQ coverage, supplier pre-qualifications, payment terms, etc.
  • Participate in resolving problems and urgencies from sales, engineering, project management and other departments.



Education and Experience
:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or business. A concentration in supply chain management is a plus.
  • Proven experience in procurement, with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience as a buyer in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of procurement principles, practices, and strategies.
  • Proficiency in procurement software, ERP systems, SAP, and data analysis tools.
  • Excellent skills in planning, negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience reading technical specifications and drawings.
  • Familiarity with legal and ethical aspects of procurement and vendor management.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office.

Work environment

  • Daily interface with Vendors, Sales, Engineering, Production, Quality Control, and Materials. Overnight travel by air or ground transportation may be required.
