Ashland has an exciting opportunity for a Production Operator to join our Ashland Specialty Ingredients G.P. business at our Fiskeville, RI location. This is a visible, significant role within the Company and the Manufacturing function. This position will report to the Production Supervisor.

The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:
Perform a wide variety of duties within the Converting / Inspection Department, including operating the Laser cutter, product inspection, powered industrial and manual material movement equipment, and cross-training within the facility.
Perform production duties such as operating laser cutter, inspecting, lifting, packaging, and warehousing.
Provide support to coating/lamination operation as needed
Maintain the work environment and equipment in a clean and safe manner, follow prescribed safety regulations
Perform related duties as required by the Manager
Actively contribute to the organizational goals by taking initiative, executing on goals, and focusing on performance and safety.
Improve the organization's capacity and capabilities through building collaborative relationships, optimizing diverse talent, and utilizing positive communications and influence with others
In order to be qualified for this role, you must possess the following:
High School diploma or equivalent
Able to collect, organize and/or process information according to standard operating procedures
Excellent communications skills
Problem Solving Skills – adapting, utilizing existing methods, identifying and implementing improved methods and procedures
Ability to multitask
Required to stand for long periods of time
Must be able to lift 50 pounds
Engage in frequent bending, stooping, squatting, pushing, and pulling of rolls and cartons
Demonstrated responsible and ethical behavior at all times
The ability to help the company drive greater value through understanding the business, making complex decisions and creating the new and different
The following skill sets are preferred by the business unit:
Prior Manufacturing experience
Good mechanical aptitude
