Summary:

This is a critical leadership role for Evernorth as it is responsible for the strategic direction of the Evernorth wholesale markets business that includes end to end new sales, implementation, and account management. Strategic leadership of the Wholesale Markets account management includes offering innovative products & services to differentiate, enhance net new growth, and improve retention of business. Additional responsibilities include leading team/individual development, providing consultative pharmacy services, ensuring compliance to client's contractual obligations, and leading all day-to-day client relationship functions to ensure superior client support.

Role & Responsibilities:


  • Lead to end to end client ownership for all wholesale market opportunities (rental retail pharmacy network, rebate and formulary options, private label mail order pharmacy services) that includes new client strategy, winning new business and signing new client contracts in partnership with legal, new client implementation in partnership with various departments across Evernorth (retail network ops, pharma contracting, formulary solutions, new client implementation, technology support), ongoing client operational management as well as ongoing client relationship management.

  • Drive new sales pipeline, growth, and successful prospecting of new client opportunities

  • Provide oversight to next level account team leaders and their teams to ensure follow-through on client issue resolution, operational efficiencies, and cross-functional alignment

  • Owner of key Supply Chain milestones per contract (PGs)

  • Collaborate with SAM on additional sales opportunitiesto help win new business and grow existing business

  • Alignment with Ascent as needed to solve for key issues and streamline communications

  • Manages critical wholesale market escalations and strategy of enterprise level prospects in partnership with new sales

Qualified Candidates Will Have a Combination of the Following:


  • 12-14 years of relevant work experience or MA/MS with 10-12 years of experience; Product management or Pharma Commercialization (or similar) experience required

  • Experience developing, launching and managing products and programs in a Health Care environment

  • Experience working with Pharmaceutical Manufacturers

  • Demonstrated initiative, independent thinker and worker

  • Detail oriented

  • Comfortable working with numerical data and information

  • Analytical and logical

  • Ability to develop hypotheses and conclusions while identifying assumptions

  • Does not jump to conclusions

  • Excellent communication skills - both verbal and written

  • Ability to communicate effectively with Sr. Director and Vice President level leaders

  • Advanced problem solving skills

  • Ability to work cross-functionally to define, scope, analyze and resolve strategic issues

  • Willingness to share opinions and take risk

  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage workload and meet project deadlines

  • Demonstrated ability as a People Leader
