Schedule | Shift: Monday thru Thursday: 7AM to 5:30PM (schedule is subject to change based on needs of the business)

US Brick has a current vacancy to join our diverse and dynamic company as a Manufacturing Utility Operator. This role will report directly to the Manufacturing Supervisor.

What you will be doing:
Identify and report faulty equipment, damage, and safety concerns to Supervisor immediately.Support the Manufacturing Operators, Raw Material Preparation (Crushing & Grinding), and Packaging departments in performance of their jobs and fill-in for Operators during absences.Transport products using available equipment (e.g. forklifts, overhead crane, Bobcats, haulages, transfers).Deliver products to their next stage of processing in a safe and timely manner.Perform QA/QC tasks to ensure brick quality in the manufacturing process.Support Department with equipment and product changeovers.Remove trash, debris, and other wastes per clean-up schedule or under direction of supervisor.Clean work area and equipment regularly using safe access and work methods.Use all PPE required (e.g. safety glasses, safety toe shoes, hard hat, gloves, ear plugs, and dust masks) for each department they work in during their shift.Stand at the sand application area and manufacturing areas continuously during the shift.Able to lift up to 50 lbs. Work w/ co-workers to load materials. Follow safe lifting procedures.Ability to load materials of awkward sizes and shapes in a safe manner.Have initiative. Be able to understand the job to be done and do it with minimal supervision.All other duties, as assigned.Follow company standards and legal regulations to ensure safe and positive work atmosphereFollow all safety, quality, production, environmental policies, and proceduresBe a good team member, assisting others as needed in a helpful wayContribute to team effort by performing other assigned duties as needed

The required skills and education to be successful:
High school or equivalent requiredExcellent safety record and safety-positive attitude.Company issued Mobile Equipment Operator license if required.Excellent teamwork skills.Ability to read and understand labels and numbers.Ability to operate in a crowded, fast-paced environment.Basic understanding of HMIs (Human-Machine Interfaces) (e.g. operator control panels).Ability to accurately perform basic math - add, subtract, multiply, divide with & without calculator.Good physical health.Able to follow instructions as directed by the supervisor.Ability to climb stairs, climb ladders, walk, sit or stand for duration of shift.Ability to work in a high stress environment to include inclement weather and long hours.

Work is performed primarily in a standard manufacturing setting.
Production facilities are not climate controlled, and work is outdoors and indoors in all types of weather conditions and work environments.
While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to stand for extended lengths of time (i.e. flagging operations), walk, sit for extended lengths of time (i.e. operating equipment), drive, use hands and fingers, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, grasp, hold, and manipulate tools; talk and hear. The employee is routinely required to climb (i.e. ladders and stairs) and stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl or stand on tip toes for extended lengths of time, and must routinely lift and/or carry up to 75 pounds alone, and up to 100 pounds with assistance. Specific vision ability required by this job includes close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus with or without ocular aids. The employee must be able to work in variable temperatures and weather conditions and near traffic with varying noise levels and with varying types of equipment and vehicles. The employee must have the ability to work around and tolerate heat and dust.
While performing the duties of this job the incumbent is regularly exposed to outside elements of wet and/or humid conditions, rain, and heat; moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles. Requires the ability to work outdoors in all weather. The incumbent may occasionally work with electrical devices and exposed to vibrations and steady level of loud noises.
