Responsibilities

As a Billing and Collections Specialist, you will complete our award-winning, paid training to learn the skills required to be a successful member of our administrative team. You will use teamwork along with self-management to build relationships with our customers through a customer-focused lens and be a key point of contact for both current and potential customers.

You will…

• Utilize strong listening skills and probing questions to identify customer concerns and evaluate their needs.


• Communicate empathetically with customers, building trust and handling objections within a conversational call flow.


• Close pest control sales via telephone and schedule the initial service.


• Perform outbound calls to customers to follow up on service received and regarding outstanding customer account balances.


• Handle special billing and collection calls, assisting with accounts payable/receivable processes.


• Provide exceptional customer service, addressing inquiries related to invoicing, purchase orders, payment portals, and other billing-related matters.


• Maintain accurate records of customer interactions and account information.


• Collaborate with team members to resolve customer issues and ensure timely payment processing.

Qualifications

As a Billing and Collections Specialist at Connecticut Pest Elimination, you must possess the following skills/requirements: 

• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.


• Ability to empathize with customers and maintain professionalism in challenging situations.


• Previous experience in billing, collections, customer service, or a related field is preferred.


• Proficiency in navigating payment portals and using billing software is a plus.


• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.


• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks accordingly.


• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically.


• High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certification in a related field is a bonus.


• Must be 18 years or older to apply 


• Proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, and Excel


• At least 2 years of proven customer service experience
