CNC Machinist III - 2nd Shift at Kurt Manufacturing

Job Description:

Kurt Manufacturing is seeking an experienced CNC Machinist to perform all operations to set-up equipment and fixtures in the machining center.  This position will primarily run 5+ axis, complex machines (for example mill-turn and complex lathes).

Shift:  This is a second-shift position with a shift differential.

Hours:


    • Monday - Thursday 4:30 p.m. - 1:00 a.m.

    • Friday 2:30 p.m. - 10:30 p.m.



Essential Functions


  • Sets up, adjusts, checks out programming and operates CNC machines to perform a series of progressive machining operations requiring a high degree of skill. 

  • Demonstrated proficiency with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).

  • Perform daily maintenance of machines as required.

  • Operators may run more than one unit simultaneously.

  • Requires a broad knowledge of machining techniques and familiarity with CNC operational procedures.

  • Maintain a clean, safe work area.

Required


  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent

  • 5 years of related experience

  • Ability to perform metric conversions

  • Must be able to read and understand blueprints, specifications, and routings

  • Strong mechanical aptitude.

  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

Preferred


  • Associate degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school

  • 10 or more years of related experience

  • Crouch by bending  body downward and forward by bending legs and spine

  • Perceive attributes of objects, such as size, shape, temperature, or texture by touch

  • Hear by perceiving the nature of sounds by ear

  • Adjust vision to bring objects into sharp focus

  • Identify and distinguish colors
