Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of American Heart Association (AHA) Emergency Cardiovascular Care (ECC) program administration standards, advanced level and instructor courses, emergency intervention methods and practices
Knowledge of AHA quality standards related to the classroom and curriculum
Skills
Skilled in use and maintenance of appropriate resuscitation equipment and tools in a safe and correct manner
Interpersonal skills to communicate with the student, staff, faculty, training center coordinator and general public in a courteous and professional manner
Abilities
Ability to prepare skills evaluation classrooms/training labs
Ability to deliver instructional presentations and answer technical questions related to the AHA ECC curriculum
Ability to make timely decisions appropriate to the situation, circumstances, and facts at hand
Ability to deal in a fair and courteous manner with a variety of individuals
Ability to provide instruction and evaluate students
Willingness to travel to various Collin County Community College campuses
Willingness to affiliate with the Collin College Training Center
Physical Demands, Working Conditions and Physical Effort
Medium Work - Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly having to move objects. Positions in this class typically include talking, hearing, seeing, grasping, standing, walking and repetitive motions, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and reaching, climbing and balancing, plus pushing, pulling and lifting. Relatively free from unpleasant environmental conditions or hazards. Office environment. Frequent physical effort required.
Requirements
High School Diploma or equivalency certification (GED) and two (2) years of AHA ECC related teaching experience required. Associate degree from an accredited institution preferred.
Licenses and Certifications
Must have a current AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Instructor Card and/or AHA Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Instructor Card.
Must have a current AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Provider Card and/or AHA Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Provider Card.
