Employees in this class are under general supervision; performs investigations of crimes and accidents, protects property, facilities and citizens by law enforcement; provides escort service; performs related and occasionally other duties as assigned.
Daily Operations
Investigates suspected crimes, reports findings, and arrests suspected individuals
Directs and controls traffic, monitors parking operation, and issues parking tickets; investigates accidents
Patrols the clinic, the offices, the lobby, the parking lot and the adjacent areas as needed.
Reports directly to main campus staff all relevant information via phone and email.
Reports to Antioch Total Health clinic Monday through Friday 8 AM to 4 PM and to main campus on regular workdays where the clinic is closed.
Documents and passes along all pertinent information throughout shift.
Performs related and occasionally other duties as assigned.
Required Skills
Ability to attain an Armed Security License
Ability to qualify with a Glock 23 40. handgun
Ability to react quickly and calmly in emergency situations and to determine proper course of action
Knowledge of campus policies, City, and State laws
Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions
Knowledge of geographic area of the campus
Ability to ascertain facts by personal contact, observations, and to determine proper course of action
Ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with students, the public, and other employees
Ability to enforce laws firmly, tactfully with respect for the rights of others
Knowledge of effective methods of investigation
Ability to learn to operate law enforcement equipment required in the performance of required duties
Ability to express ideas clearly and concisely, orally and written
Required Experience and Education
High School Diploma required or
3 -12 months law enforcement work experience preferred
