Our Midwest Water Business is growing! In response to this growth, our Water group in Columbus, OH is looking to bring on board a Senior Water/Wastewater Project Manager to help with the continued development and growth of the GHD Water Business. This professional will provide technical leadership and delivery of major water treatment, wastewater treatment design, and construction engineering services throughout the region.

Working with an energetic and high performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:

  • Design, develop, and implement water/wastewater treatment systems.
  • Prepare reports, specifications, drawings, construction schedules, and permits for water and wastewater treatment design projects.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and cost analyses for wastewater treatment projects.
  • Prepare design computations and opinions of probable construction cost.
  • Oversee the construction and operation of water/wastewater treatment facilities.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant environmental regulations.
  • Provide technical support to junior engineers and other staff members.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients and stakeholders.
  • Perform and direct the technical and production work of the team, coordinating contractual aspects of the project, and acting as primary contact for client.
  • Establish project delivery strategy and develop job management plan, QA plan, securing resources, establishing work briefs and budgets.
  • Prepare and monitor project budgets and schedules for existing projects.
  • Participate in recruiting of new staff.
  • Participate in business development and marketing strategies specific to the Columbus area.
  • Develop pricing, scoping, and win strategies for new work.
  • Manage all communication of technical and contract project issues for client meetings.
  • Conduct work to appropriate professional standards and QA/QC requirements. Participate in QA/QC programs for other projects as requested by managers.
  • Direct team of subject area leads for the development of design and construction documents.
  • Collaborate with Service Line Leaders and Project Managers within and outside the Region on work sharing.
  • Develop and foster relationships with existing and prospective clients through business development, sales, and marketing.

What you will bring to the team:

  • A bachelor's and/or master's degree in Chemical, Civil, or Environmental Engineering.
  • A Current Ohio Professional Engineer (PE) license with the expectation to obtain a license in other states.
  • At least 15 years of water/wastewater treatment design experience with at least 5 years of experience in the Columbus market
  • Experience with Water/Wastewater Treatment Design-Build projects
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with proven ability to develop, mentor, and lead professional technical staff
  • Skilled at identifying a project with a client, scoping a project, and leading a project pursuit.
